Hi! How are you doing? No, really. How are you doing? It’s been an interesting start to the year for many and an unusual few weeks for all. I’m praying you’re finding some peace and rest in the slow down and social distancing. We’re only a week into this at our house, but I’ve kind of enjoyed the new pace for now. This was supposed to be our kids’ spring break, so we were prepared for this week to be more calm it hasn’t been as socially fun as we were expecting but I’m not sure what next week will bring.
The weather here has been cloudy and rainy/cold most days, so that’s limited us to mostly indoor activities. We started the week off by cleaning out closets and rooms, and I was pushing to do all of the organizing before we did much else. Then we got the tentative school return date of April 6, and I slowed my roll a bit. We’ve played lots of games, made too many desserts, and created a lot of art to hang in our front windows. A friend’s neighborhood was encouraging art walks: hang art you’ve created in your windows for others to enjoy when they go on walks (one of the activities recommended right now) so we got our neighborhood on board, and it’s been so awesome!
Amidst the slower pace, I managed to freshen up the living room a bit. I wanted it to feel more spring-like and also bring in some texture. We added a house phone earlier this year and I went with a vintage red look (the bat phone, as Micah likes to call it). The pop is so fun! A few weeks ago I picked up this ashtray thrifting. The marble pattern is great, and the camel colored marks from the cigarettes don’t worry, I washed it well inspired the camel pops and more natural elements I brought in throughout. A very weird thing to pull inspiration from but just proof you can be inspired by anything!
I am always a fan of maximizing grocery store flowers – now more than ever! When I went to get some necessities I grabbed several bundles of babies breath. Yes, it is sadly know for feeling dated with roses in corsages and arrangements, but keeping it long and full is really fresh and interesting. The rattan and glass box is from Nell Hills and they should be getting more in they’re great about shipping items and still available via phone to do so. I also found a set of them here. The marble catch all has vintage flashcards in it that will definitely come in handy now that we’ll be working on academics at home.
The coffee table is a mix of neutrals and textures to keep your eye moving throughout the space. Everything is thrifted or no longer available except the large white pottery and the spotted box.
On the bar cabinet I wanted to bring a bit of spring with some new art. I looked through my stash and didn’t have anything with great color. I immediately thought about my John Derian Picture Book and started flipping through. Pre-Corona Gwen would have never done this, but I ended up cutting out one of the pages and popping it into the spotted frame I thrifted a few years ago. A fresh candle from my candle drawer Nell Hills Home scent and some long matches to talk to the red phone on the other side of the room, and I’m calling it spring-y.
Some of you may notice that the layout is different in here too. This room is very tricky to arrange, as it’s very little wall space and mostly doors and windows. Before the holidays I ended up shifting the couch in front of the window wall and put my newly recovered chaise in here. It look so great with the walls. Because it’s about the same color and a lower piece of furniture, it doesn’t visually take up much space and helps your eye move on to the back of the room. The cute little ottoman by the fireplace is a piece I found for $15 at an estate sale last fall and had it redone in a warm, performance burgundy. It plays nicely with the library.
There are some other things I would like to bring in/change in the space if I was getting out and about right now, but it was a fun challenge to use what I already had. An artist who is an Instagram friend sent me some of her landscapes a few weeks ago, and I think a small grouping would make the perfect addition to the room. Laurel sent me more than I need, so I thought I would give one away to you all! Comment below for your chance to win. I’d love to hear how you’re doing, what you’ve been up to during your social distancing, or where you’d use the piece in your home. I’ll draw a winner Monday after midnight (contest has expired). Have a beautiful weekend!

Love your living room! Feeling inspired by it, so maybe I will use this time to do a little refresh (during nap time of course!) we have been fine over here. Embracing the slow and lifting our friends, family, medicinal workers up and praying everyone will be wise and well!
Connor says
I love the red background that Laurel paints on, I’ve never seen that done on something like a landscape before! I would use the piece in my bathroom, with a wide mat and a pretty and thin gold antique frame. Gorgeous, Gwen!
Abigail says
I love your living room! It’s inspiring me to try and redecorate with what we have at home. I’m an artist but I’ve had to take a break because of morning sickness. We are spending the days trying to keep our three little kids occupied and deep cleaning the house. I love these landscapes and I think I’d put them in our bedroom, which doesn’t have much art at the moment
Alexandra says
Cooked chocolate pudding from scratch. Would place that lovely painting in our deep dark moody front room. Thank you for sharing so much, and bringing inspiration to us all!
Whitney M says
Love that painting. We are getting outside alot. Sledding in our backyard on the hill because it is full on winter still at my house. In town it is spring. Cooking everything from scratch and almost making a dent in my pantry.
Tracy says
I love everything you do, Gwen. I wish I had your eye when thrifting. I am part of your community and have learned so much from you. Thank you for offering the landscape as a giveaway. I love it so much.
Stephanie O says
I’ve been loving following you on insta stories this week! Small reorganizing and refreshing projects are keeping me going right now. I also am making it a point to buy fresh flowers on my grocery store runs. There’s something relaxing about having something natural and beautiful in my house right now….it reminds me that it’s all going to be okay. ❤️
Christeen says
Absolutely beautiful! Just looked at her IG page and I love her style! And yours of course 😂 This week has been scary honestly. I’m self-employed so just trying to take it day by day and really hoping this passes soon.
Kate says
I love her work and started following her on IG because of you.
Currently I’m redecorating my husband’s home office which includes scraping and refinishing the ceilings (ugh but I love saving $1.5k) and then repainting and new/vintage-new everything. My paid design work is delayed indefinitely so I need a place to flex my creative and physical muscles.

Social do
I stanching is hard for myself since I spend every day on the run with our two kids in different schools and activities. To go from that to staying home is an adjustment but one that is needed. I have decided to deep clean one space daily and to purge our home of items that we do not use regularly. I would say we have mostly been doing art but I am no painter like you Gwen. I’m more smiley faces and random shapes. We do however have an art wall of our kids paintings, school achievements, and crafts on our way out the back door. We display some of my favorite art pieces I have throated as well and if we were blessed with one of these prints it would be a perfect match and if that didn’t work for my first choice, second would be in our master bedroom. Take care and thank you for the giveaway excitement right now.
Heather says
I’ve been following Laurel since she blogged! I love love her style. Your loving room refresh turned out beautifully ❤️

I love everything you do, Gwen. I wish I had your eye when thrifting. I am part of your community and have learned so much. Thank you for sharing one of the landscapes. I love it so much.

Gwen! How did you know that I needed a post from you today?! I love how your mirror wall is coming along. Your switch up for spring is refreshing, and I love to study your images on how you style your surfaces. It’s taking all the patience I currently have to help my son with his homework, and our Governor just extended our school closing until April 17th. Whew. Deep breaths. We will get through this and, God willing, be a better nation because of it!
Niki Conte says
Omg I love her work! So nice of you to highlight & giveaway <3 thank you for your words of calm & dose of pretty during this tough time. This might be my favorite rendition of this space!
Linda DuBay says
I don’t have instagram and have been checking to see if you’ve updated blog and I’m so happy you have! (no guilt or disappointment implied there at all, with kids being home and the crazy circumstances we are all in – just excited to get some much needed inspiration). This was just the inspiration I needed to actually go into my “inventory” and spruce up that way. I absolutely love the Baby’s breath idea and will pick some up when I go to do another grocery run at some point. Love it! And can I just say, who would have thought how fantastic long matches would look as an accessory!? A bit obsessed by that, will be doing it and passing it along to friends. It’s simple and genius. Thanks so much for sharing so much inspiration with us and I’m going to be sprucing up my formal living area and add some touches of color and texture. Thank you and may we all take care of ourselves and each other right now.
Chris says
Love the pop of red in the landscape painting! Like you trying to make do and refresh for spring with what I have and small projects. It’s a crazy time we live in right now but all will be well.
Kirsten Rasmussen says
Beautiful piece! I’ve loved following along especially now being stuck inside.
Veronica says
Hi! I’m a nurse working at the VA in LB, CA. We’ve been coming in as usual, though nothing about the hospital is ‘normal’ right now. Everyday things chances, procedures, protocols. It’s definitely an anxious time. Thanks for sharing such pretty and personal pictures of your home. It was a nice mental break. Be well.
Maria Oxender says
So beautiful! I love all the small details that you pay attention too. I’ve been following you for awhile now and you’ve trained me to look at the small details that make things really special! Thank you for that lesson! I’ve been using this forced rest to exercise my creative muscle. It’s fun to sit down and paint and not have that nagging feeling that I should be somewhere else or be doing something else.
Lane Odle says
We are taking things one day at a time, finding gratitude where we can. I’d hang the painting in our kitchen or tv room.
Hailee Fredrickson says
Love love love the color. I’ve been taking this time to spring clean and slow down to enjoy time with my babies. I work in healthcare (the night shift) so just trying to not let the stress get to me. 😊
Heidi Cornell-d'Echert says
Just started teleworking from home today. Our dog definitely doesn’t get why everyone is home with her. Strange and sad times right now but hopefully brighter times in the future. Love all your living room updates!
Larissa says
We are technically still on spring break, so it’s a more subdued version of that. Walks but no library. Backyard but no playgrounds. Just bought a trampoline today though, so excited to put that to use!
I’ve been admiring this artist for a while. I think I found her through you. Such beautiful work!
Have a lovely weekend. ☺️
Allison says
Gwen!! You are such a gem to bring such a calm space on a day that has felt anything but calm!! Thank you for your consistent inspiration both in bringing aspirational spaces as well as reachable spaces for most of us! This is why I love your feed and blog:). We have snow here in Colorado today and so while we are trying to get out, it has been short and kids are slightly climbing the walls- I finally settled everyone with a nap and am going to have a virtual coffee date with a friend! Xxoo!
Alison says
Hello, recently stumbled upon your account and am loving it. I love your mix a old and new, classic and fun.
I think a print from Laurel would look amazing in my living room.
Jennie says
Hi! You’re home is so thoughtfully and beautifully put together. It provides so much inspiration! Those landscapes are stunning as well. If I win, I’d style it on our living room bookcases. It’d be a bonus since we’re spending more time in that room lately. It receives the morning light 😉
Lauren says
Love the refresh so much!! I have little pops of red in my living room, too! I may need that phone… We have been doing ok so far with the quarantine. I unfortunately have a compromised immune system, so our family has to be extra careful. But, I am enjoying having my husband work from home. It feels sweet to have our whole family together most of the day. I have been praying non-stop, though, for all of the people who are in much more stressful positions than ours right now. Thanks so much for sharing this giveaway. I would love to own a piece of hers!!
Christy Collins says
What a gorgeous room!
During social distancing I am unfortunately studying for a big standardized medical exam. Would love the pop of color and joy of a print by Laurel.
Rachel Ashmore says
What a beautiful landscape painting. I love the unique colors. The homebody I’m me is loving the slowdown and undistracted family time…even if my anxiety level is up! 😫
Lauren says
I am LOVING this refresh! And it’s inspiring me to do the same while I’m stuck at home. So far all I’ve done is remove some old blinds in favor of curtains 🤪 But it’s still so refreshing. I have the perfect space between those two windows for a petite art piece too! 🙏🏼
Amy says
I have still been going to work. I work in a long term care facility and our main concern is protecting our residents. We are doing the best we can that way. I have 5 kids in school, who are all trying to do school from home. I am called upon to mediate at times. I wish I could be home with them doing fun and creative projects. We FaceTime my mom next door, who is isolating herself because she is high risk. We are doing well though, and have what we need. I believe I would put the print in my bedroom. I love that red undertone!
Sarah White says
Hi Gwen!
This is lovely! When you shared Laurel’s art on IG I was immediately drawn to it, that pop of red just snags me! I feel the same about the red in your refresh. Love it! I would be excited to use her print to freshen up a gallery wall we have in our main living space. Thanks for all the inspiration!
Katie says
I love this update at the red in her landscapes. We’ve been juggling working from home and our just-starting-to-walk 14-month-old. Lots of FaceTime with family so they can see him grow!
Alice says
I have only recently discovered both you and Laurel -love how inspiring you both are! Thank you for being such a bright spot especially during these times!
Kate Nelson says
Her paintings are so beautiful! I think I would put it in my bedroom, I need more color there.
Janie Gattari says
Love what you have done as usual. Lots of indoor reading and cleaning here. Allergies are bad but next week planning to get out in the garden.
Alison Sheffield says
I discovered her work thru you and am obsessed! Home with the husband and boys making do. Your living room refresh is lovely.
Emily says
The pops of red make the whole room come alive 🙂 I’ve been journaling, rearranging my art supplies, and facetiming with friends every day. Be well
Hazel MacTavish says
Gorgeous styling! Thank you for sharing your friend’s art – it’s simply stunning. After raising our twin boys, I’m finally making time to update our furnishings and home. This painting would be lovely in my kitchen in a simple frame on the shelf.
Amy says
Thank you so much for offering a giveaway! I am in love with those beautiful landscapes Laurel did. I’m trying to add more color to my space through art and one of those would be perfect! I love your home and your style, thanks for sharing your space with us.
Maggie says
I love love love the pops of red!! I would put it above my hamper in the corner of my bedroom as a beautiful moment as I think about the drag of laundry! I will call it my “apocalypse art”. 🥰
Mary Kate Scott says
Your home is so beautifully curated! I love it all. We’re on the hunt for a house so lots of time to look at houses and get design ideas. This landscape would be perfect for a little vignette 💕
kat good says
So far I have only rearranged one tiny shelf in my barrister bookcase. I am sure there will be more to come in the next few weeks. I would love to be able to add a sweet give away painting to that mix.
Audrey says
Love your blog and your posts which (in my opinion) are too far and few between. Love the living room refresh and your style as a whole. I just painted my guest bathroom a moody olive green and have been looking for a pop of red… love Laurel’s work and would love to win a piece. Thanks for the chance.
Amy says
I actually discovered her work through a post of yours and I can’t over how beautiful her pieces are! I have been trying to find the perfect piece for our hallway and would love to place one of her pieces there! As far as social distancing and quarantine goes.. well let’s just say there’s a lot of dancing going on with the dogs. 😆 I’m ready to be social again!
Peggi says
Beautiful, as always. And a breath of fresh air. We’re cooking great meals and spending quiet time together. As a teacher, I will be returning to work on March 30 to figure out how to get instruction to our students for at least April. Deep breath. Anyway, I love the pops of red in those landscapes and in everything you do! Thank you for being present and offering inspiration.💖
Jenn S says
I was listening to a podcast about how to make your space more creative and the experts say even bringing in a representation of nature will help relax and energize you~~ so I’d love to add these little bits of nature to my space to help with the social distancing. The living room refresh looks amaze!
Ursula says
I counted stippled dots on your rug, the frame you mention, the box and magnifying glass on the coffee table, and even sort of on the inside of the lampshade and a bookcover also on the coffee table. Then I noticed the same texture on the center of the first mini mountain landscape painting you show. Wow! You have to keep that one!
It’s funny, I wonder how long it would take to notice intentionally serendipitous little details like that for someone who’s actually experiencing the room in real life. Seeing the pics on the blog entry is like cheating– in a good way!
Vanessa Watson says
So beautiful and I love Laurel’s art too! Planning out my raised beds, phase 3 of my garden. I am looking to try some new veggies and growing my first cut flower garden and helping out our pollinator friends🌻🐝🦋
Lori says
As a teacher (home for awhile), I’m using the time to “spring-up” my home, check in on little grandsons and elderly mother, read long pushed-aside books, and draw close to the One in whom we trust. Thank you for beauty that delights and inspires! I would use the print to add color to a mostly-neutral bedroom.
Frances says
I LOVE her work, and yours! We just moved into our fixer-upper, finally, and we don’t have anything on the walls yet! I just finished a geometric wanescotting in the hallway and painted it deep green, I’d love to hang the landscapes there to finish ONE room! Then on to the next, we’re working from home, getting house projects done and… TRYING to get pregnant during quarantine!
Julia Molewyk says
Your living room is beautiful! My kids are older teens, but they still need my help with things. In a way, that’s kind of nice, as they’ll be all grown and on their own soon. I would put the lovely landscape on display in my livingroom. Thanks.
Stacey says
Learning to breathe and practice gratitude in this time of stress and anxiety, as well as great loss for our family. There is pain and brokenness but as we are learning, there is beauty too.
Angella says
We are working on house projects. I’m actually excited to tackle them! We just bought our first home so we have lots of projects to do. We don’t have any art on the walls at the moment so would love some artwork. Love your Instagram feed it is very inspiring!
Melanie Frazier says
You are one of my favorite accounts! Your attention to detail & ability to tell a story in your design are so inspiring! Love the coffee table!
Kathleen Kammerer says
I love these beautiful paintings! I’d probably put it on my open kitchen shelves or over our desk in the den.
Lindsey W says
Love these paintings!!!! Would use in our bar area! So far trying to balance working from home and two toddlers.

Laura Kate says
I’m so grateful you made me discover her work. These are so beautiful, and the pop of red makes them so original. Currently in full lockdown in France for the foreseeable future. I truly appreciate you keeping things as normal as possible on your blog and Insta. It gives a few minutes of true escape. Thanks Gwen!
Kristen Koning says
It looks beautiful, Gwen!
I’m an introvert, so social distancing is a little bit easier for me than for some people. I have been spending my time doing some household chores, watercolour painting and cross stitching. I plan on doing a lot of baking and cleaning in the next little bit as well.
I hope you and your family continue to feel peace during this uncertain time!
Sydney says
I would love an original piece to display, what a treasure! I live in Washington State, so we’ve been following the outbreak pretty closely for a while now. Our small town hasn’t seen a confirmed case yet, but the big reported numbers aren’t far away. I keep reminding myself that since we saw the start of things in this country we should also see things taper off first too, right? It’s what I’m going with!
I’m a pretty new reader from your AZ project with CLJ, your spaces have been instant inspiration!
Elizabeth says
I love the changes! The pops of red are especially fresh and make the whole space feel like spring. Thank you for sharing something beautiful during these strange and uncertain times. I recently discovered Laurel on Instagram (maybe through your Insta stories?), and I am over the moon about her work! It’s so unique and lovely.
Sarah says
Love the space! We’ve been trying to focus on lots of family time and creativity but today I’m rearranging our playroom and doing a deep clean! This artwork would look amazing in there!
Hannah says
I’ve been having a hard time with this, but it is starting to get better. I’ve been separated for the last year and have loved learning to live on my own. This feels different. Like potentially being truly alone forever (irrational, but where my mind went). Other single friends have been feeling similar. We’re connecting and encouraging each other. Just reminding myself this is temporary even though it doesn’t always feel like that!
I’d love to have some art to add to my home! I really only have a few things and they are all from target. This would be a nice addition to my living room to look at while I work from home. Thanks for hosting a givewaway!
Jenna says
Would love a piece of art to cheer up our home since we’re spending more time than ever before! Unfortunately both my husband and I are still required to go to work, but are not doing anything other than that! Soaking up time with my husband and my bulldog! Enjoying the Facebook marketplace posts over on thrift with the makerista!
Teri says
I’ve been cleaning, painting and decluttering (like most of America!). Your post gave me inspiration to change up things in my living room and adding a landscape piece would be most welcome. Thanks fir the giveaway and stay well!
Adeia says
Love your room and the fact that you are sharing one of the landscapes. Many of us are always looking for new and pretty things for our homes. This fits the bill!
Meredith says
Wow, the room is beautiful! I loved following along on Instagram as you worked through the room. The Baby’s Breath are just perfect, I may have to pick some up for myself on my next necessities run! I’ve been doing my best to make the most of the situation by playing with the kids, and allowing myself extra rest that I do not usually take for myself. It’s been refreshing! Sunshine today has greatly improved my mood 🙂
Jennie says
Beautiful! I’m in KC too and love your style. Thanks for the breath of fresh air.
Sara says
I love her artwork! I’d likely hang it in my newly remodeled kitchen. I’m a sucker for any landscape.
As far as our quarantine, it hasn’t looked too much different from my normal hermit lifestyle. But we have 4 kids so that’s been a bit challenging! Trying to slow down and stay grateful for the safety we have in our choice and ability to stay home during this time. We have also been working on our basement, which flooded a few weeks ago. Perfect timing! Ha
Theresa Allen says
I would add this to a gallery wall – were in a new home so the walls pretty much all need some love right now! Thanks for sharing your living room, it’s beautiful!
As for social distancing, I just finished a 24 hour shift in the hospital…it’s an uneasy time for sure but we will keep showing up for our patients. Even though it’s boring and scary and weird and not what anyone planned for, please everyone keep up your social distance so we can get through this virus!
Julie says
Her art is beautiful! We’ve been trying to cook and bake more, play games together as a family on the weekends. Weekdays I still have to work (healthcare), although like another reader noted above, work is anything but normal. It makes my husband working from home with our two young kids very challenging as they still need to be entertained and cared for. But they understand why I still have to go to work. Mom guilt has never been stronger! It’s definitely been a challenging time for everyone! Thank you for sharing about your home-it’s a nice distraction from a generally stressful time.
Keri says
When searching decor blogs, I stumbled upon yours and blindly just clicked your most recent blog post. We’ve been building (like seriously from the empty space to the ceiling) an office in our basement during the virus shut down. I’ve been thinking about reupholstering our two vintage barrel chairs with a blush/peach velvet and my eyes bugged clean out of my head when I saw yours right there on my computer screen!!! They’re exactly what was in my head and I’m so pumped to make it happen now. 🙂
Kelly Potter says
I love the spring refresh! Good for you on pulling out the John Derian from the book. You only live once, right? I’m trying to make the most of the things that have been made available during social distancing. I’ve watched two operas and am taking an online course from Columbia University. I guess this has become a time for personal development 😉 Thanks for the giveaway! Have fun passing the time 🙂
Sarah C Bradshaw says
I am, and always have been, obsessed with your style. The perfect not-too-overdone maximalist. Girl after my own heart.
Raquel says
Taking this time to get some projects done! I’m in the process of reupholstering my dining room chairs. But with 4 little kids at home with me this whole thing hasn’t been too disruptive to our schedule. But it’s made me slow down and enjoy more the time I have with them. Thanks for sharing a bit of normalcy! I’d style one of those lovely prints on top of my piano!
Ali says
I love your style, even though it’s different from mine. It’s enlightening to see your choices and how you work in your thrift finds!
Melanie Langford says
I haven’t known much about blogging or bloggers until this “new world” we are living in. I found you through Thistlewood Farms. I LOVE your ideas. Your style is what I am all about. Thank you for sharing your ideas with us out here is the virtual world. I really love this artist friend of yours too. I am going to have so many new ideas and “friends” when this world straightens itself out. Keep it coming! Thanks again!
Katie says
Love your living room! I think that painting would look amazing propped up on an easel on my bookshelf. I just moved into a new place a month ago and am still styling everything. The painting is so beautiful and I love the pops of red! I’ve been trying to get outside and move my body every day, and also video chat with friends when able. The only things keeping me sane! Hope you are staying healthy!
Monika Mazur says
What a beautiful print! I would love to hang it in my entry after the painting refresh I’m doing to stay busy during the social distancing/stay at home time in our lives.
Joanna Kalisz says
I’ve been thinking I need to try landscapes with my kids as we hunker down. I would hang it in my hall, it would add interest to the gallery wall there.
Erika Sherman says
Her work is beautiful! A grouping would be darling. Her landscape has a perfect home in our living room. Right now I could use a new view. Haha. Staying home is hard!
Tara says
Beautiful update! I love the depth and layers to your spaces that add such interest and special little moments. Being home so much now makes me crave color and art in my home. I especially love her landscapes as a way to bring the outside in during these last tough months of winter! (Denver- we get snow through Morher’s Day!! 😭)
Kathy Roberson says
Everything turned out great! I need to paint trim but it’s so boring…still procrastinating. I started over with my seeds so waiting for germination; going to try to catch them before they get so leggy.
Would love her print…I would put it on my family room shelves on a cute little easel.
Tiffany says
Looks beautiful, Gwen! And thanks for sharing such beautiful artwork! I’d place it in my living room—I’m slowly collecting “real” art for my spaces and live the look of hers. Thanks for the introduction
Nicole M says
So, so pretty 🙂 My husband and I have been working on restoring/renovating our guest bedroom and are nearing the finish line. Adding that print would be a great finishing touch to one of the nightstands or dresser!
Jess says
I’m balancing anxiety with hope. And trying to do some rearranging at the same time.
Kristin says
The room looks beautiful Gwen! I love the subtle pops of red, like the red tipped matchsticks, it just shows how intentional you are with your spaces.
We’re on day 10 of social distancing, and this weekend was really rough. I’m an introvert, and a natural homebody, but I’m used to spending the majority of my days alone. I really cherish my alone time to recharge my batteries and quiet my mind, as much as I love spending time with my family, I’ve missed that time to myself. Luckily, today was a new day, and I video chatted with some girlfriends, even put some make-up on, and those small things have done wonders for my mental health.
Jennifer Frucella says
I’ve always thought baby’s breath was underrated because by itself, it’s just so soft and lovely! And it looks beautiful in your living room! I’ve been taking this time to go through cabinets and drawers and pull out the stuff we don’t use so I can donate it. And I love Laurel Dawn’s red underpainting; it really makes the landscape pop!
book. Biesenbach says
I love small landscapes! We are buying our new home this week and I know the perfect spot! Entry nook.
Brenda says
As widow, empty nester I miss people! I’ve been self isolating for 2+ weeks now – well before the governor of California required it – in order to be able to assist my elderly parents without fear of contamination. I’ve been cleaning closets, reading, painting trim that’s gone too long without, baking, going for walks and catching up on blog reading. I’d love one of this beautiful landscapes to brighten my day!
Grace says
Hi, would love to add this to my hallway gallery. So far I’m okay with social distancing since that is my normal on the daily. 🙂
Alex says
The landscape is so beautiful and peaceful! My husband is a physician and is finishing up a three month away rotation this week. When he gets back we’re planning on busting out some house projects before having a baby in June! Our two kiddos and I are definitely starting to feel a little stir crazy!
Whitney Swann says
Your room is beautiful!
As a dentist and owner of my practice, we are shut down completely. Spending lots of time with my family and also lots of time trying to figure out how we will take care of my other “family”—my staff. These are stressful times!
Anne Marie says
We moved from Kansas to Texas last Monday. Which may not be the best time for the actual move, but it’s a great time when you think about all the designated time you have to unpack and personalize!
Hope you and your family are doing well!

I have been chatting on face time, reading and listening to music more. If I won these gorgeous piece of art I would put near what is now my current makeshift Home Office!
Erica Larsen says
Love that piece!
We live in Hong Kong, but I’m currently social distancing in Idaho with my 3 kids. We just entered week 9 of homeschool (since we dealt with the coronavirus 2 months ago in Asia as well) & I’m trying each day to find a little beauty in all this madness. 🤪
Katy klima says
Love this piece! I’d love to hang it in my kitchen where I would see it everyday.

Hi Gwen, I believe you have a special ability to capture the essence of a vignette in photography. I really enjoy the visual comfort you provide. I would place the painting in the niche above the fireplace mantel here in my Montana home. LJ
Melanie Munns says
Love your room!! I’ve been at home with my 4 kids trying to figure out this online schooling and the kids are doing pretty great except the stress of my 1st grader getting through it, it’s going to be a long run. I’ve been working on personal 2019 photo memory books for them all. I’ve done 2 on chatbooks and am now trying my hand at a mixbook one for the rest. It’s been fun and will be an Easter surprise for them. Big fan of all you do Gwen!
Stephanie DuCharme says
Thanks for the break in my day! My husband and I are both working from home with 2 kids. It’s definitely weighing on me but my husband has been able to get some projects done around the house. I would use this print in my office where we are getting ready to put up a gallery wall with a combination of things thrifted, things that mean a lot to us and old and new pictures.
Courtney Clement says
I love the pops of red in that painting! I’d probably have to get to framed and place it on the mantle. I love having a mix of bigger and smaller pieces to layer with little knick knacks up there. And we’re using time at home to clean out things we don’t use and rearrange so it seems like the perfect opportunity to incorporate something new!
Debbie says
What a stunning refresh! You never fail to make everything look so special and thought out. I’ve been taking a queue from you and being more thoughtful of the everyday things that could become mundane and doing something to make it special. Going for that special one piece silver spoon that lost its set at the antique store and using it solely for the morning tea mix.
Allison says
So glad I found your blog thru your collaboration with CLJ. Your style is fresh and beautiful. I love that it is so unique. Love this artwork that you featured!
Dani says
Thank you for the great post and contest. We are taking your lead and beginning a garden for the first time this year! Figured with all this new found time home now is our year. Thanks for the motivation and information!
Courtney Lightfoot says
We are surviving! We both worked from home prior to this which is such a blessing to not have to shift, but now juggling the kids in this schedule and beginning to homeschool next week is going to be tricky. Praying through it all❤️!
I have always loved your style and think this piece is beautiful! Would love to place it in my bedroom!
Rita says
So beautiful!
I am reading whatever I can put my hands on and working from home, hopefully this will be over soon. 😊

Loving your living room ! Those paintings are amazing! We have been spending a lot of time playing games and resting so far.
Jill J. says
I love your style!! The landscapes are just lovely! I would put one in the bathroom we are currently renovating.
Lowe Saddler says
Hello hello 🙂
Found my way here through your IG, but I’m loving the blog as well! All of your content provides a much needed respite from the current world going-ones 💕 Social distancing is such an interesting concept when you live alone (like I do), so I’m attempting to push through the dreariness by giving myself breaks to appreciate the small things and pretty moments. I’d love to add one of these gorg landscapes to my room for a pretty little spark!
alexis turner says
I’m just trying to stay sane and help others I know stay sane in this crazy time. I’m cleaning and organizing a little more than normal, but that’s about it! I do love this art piece, though!
Maggie says
My husband and I are building a house right now. We are using all this free time to watch our framers work on a daily basis and annoying the heck out of our builder with constant change orders! This print would look beautiful in my new home!
Tamara says
We’ve been walking twice a day, sitting out in our backyard and taking time to clean and organize our home! Crossing my fingers to win this painting, I love her work.
Ash richardson says
Your home is always so inspiring. Thank you for introducing me to Laure- I love her painting. I was planning on doing some work to our mid century fixer upper we just bought but with 2 toddlers we have just been going outside as much as possible.
Pam says
Gwen
I really like Laurel’s landscapes!! They are stunning.
Your living room looks great and has given me motivation to “refresh” mine.
I work at our town’s Clerk’s Office. Since I’m the only one in the office I can still go to work. Our office is needed as we take care of the water, sewer and trash. Our town only has a population of 900.
I’m thankful our church does live streaming. This weeks service reminded me ….I know that I know that He is in control and he watches over me (us).
Whit Sanders says
I started following you during the collaboration with Julia! I love your home and style so inspirational! I love Laurel’s landscapes and hope I’m a lucky winner 🙂
Katie says
Love seeing your spring projects and especially your seedling journey! Social media can be a lovely break from the chaos of the world sometimes! I work on a farm and we have been very busy this spring helping bring food and nourishment to our community. And while all of the things going on in the world are confusing, it’s nice to look to the certainty of nature: flowers will bloom, snow will melt, days will become long and the sun will shine, and we’ll continue on this cycle with the seasons (renewal, growth, abundance, dormant/stillness)
Thanks!!
Ashley says
Homeschooling has been a good distraction. And I’m finally getting the little projects done 🙂
Carrie whipple says
We’re doing good. Just set up the office to start sewing face masks. This would go in my office next to my desk❤️
Justynn says
Your styling is so dreamy ❤️. Hanging in there, taking a day at a time, and eating all the sweets.
Maddie H says
This is so lovely, Gwen! I am a long time reader but first time commenter – definitely have been seeking out more online content now that we are hunkering down at home. I love that the internet has made it so that we can all stay connected during this time.
Love your styling and the way you make it seem so effortless. Thank you for sharing this update!
Ann says
Hi Gwen,
Hope you’re all doing well during these crazy times. Thank you so much for your work, which has inspired me to introduce traditional and thrifted elements into my home! I’ve slowly been sprucing up my mudroom/laundry room and that is where I would hang this lovely piece. The colors would play nicely with the green paint on the board and batten and the earth tones in the wallpaper! The pop of red would be fun and unexpected. It would be the last thing I look at before exiting out the back door everyday and no doubt put a smile on my face:)
Lizz Wright says
My family has been hunkering down and taking all of these changes as slowly and mindfully as we can. Thankful my husband and I have jobs that allow us to work from home, and soak up this extra time with our 2 years old son.
I’m so drawn to these landscapes, and the warmth that Laurel can bring to the nature she paints. We bring home art whenever we travel, for work or for pleasure, and now that we’ll be homebound for a while, this would be a great addition to our walls to remember not only this time, but our love for getting out and seeing new things. Thank you so much for sharing!
Kyla Pelletier says
Love all the colors in your home 😍 This week I’ve gotten started on several home projects I’ve been wanting to get to. I finished my mudroom makeover yesterday!
Melissa Beckman says
We have been hunkering here now in Southern Wisconsin for over a week! It’s been hard but I’m finding joy in having more time with my kids and husband, organizing my home, watering my houseplants, creating more art, starting seeds, and cleaning!!!! I love all of your posts and stories…you have a way of elevating anything and everything you do! I love all your recommendations and your style is awesome!!! PS…I’ve known about this artist for years when if I’m not mistaken she had a blog called “Abode Love”!!?!?! Her art is so gorgeous!!!!!!!! I was so surprised to see your post because I don’t think she has that blog up anymore!
Ali says
I love the painting! I would put it in our master bedroom where we have pops of red. ❤️
Kristen says
What a lovely space. I was in the midst of a mini makeover in my living room, but with our new shelter-in-place mandate, I’m putting that on hold to focus on our health, new homeschool routine, and working from home. Since I’m spend a lot of time in my newly created home office, I’d use this piece there to bring a little beauty to my boring workspace. 🙂
Kristalina Oakley says
While social distancing I’m loving following along with your living room update. I usually really enjoy your thrifting but sadly not a possibility at the moment. As a family we are getting outdoors as much as possible being sure to keep our distance from others. We do not have a backyard being in an apartment so it has been essential for us. This little landscape would surely help brighten up our home. Thanks for the opportunity. Take care, Kristalina
Kristen Balonek says
The paintings are fantastic! I’d love to add one to my home. I am trying to appreciate this bit of extra time as much as possible. The minutes pass slowly but the days pass quick trying to teach 3 kids, work from home and finish my dissertation.
Molly says
I have been trying to paint some myself! I would love to have one of Laurel’s pieces and already have a spot in my kitchen picked out!
Nancy says
In love with your home. With you and your everyday inspiration. It’s such an instant uplift for me and I look forward to your posts every time. I still think you need your own show! There is so much you do that I love to do myself and am currently keeping myself busy with. I have found light in these days through decorating my home, finishing up projects I never have time for, and hoping to finish a gallery wall in my bedroom to which I would add that lovely painting to! Anyway, Gwen, Keep inspiring people with your lovely gift through these posts even though your thrifting may be limited now, and don’t forget to take time for yourself as will I and all of us mamas should ☺️
Nicole Vavra says
I love the blush with the pop of red. I’m looking to incorporate some more warm tones in my house and some blush because I’m in a house of boys and they can deal with it right?! Love your style as always and would love to be considered for this print! So beautiful!
Maria Hallas says
Absolutely adore the living room! And love the painting too!😉😍
Briana says
So stunning! Those red accents really captivate you and force you to take it in!

Thank you for continuing your content both on @theMakerista and @ThriftLiketheMakerista. In a time when the news and other worldly “goings on” can become overwhelming, your feeds continue to inspire and bring joy. Thank you, Gwen!
Erin Spencer says
Love this art so much! I’ve been keeping busy during this crazy time by taking on projects for my apartment including hanging some new enamel shelves. Currently trying to fill them with interesting works of art and this would be perfect!! I’m obsessed with the little pops of red!
Paige says
Love Laurel’s work! After you shared a few of her pieces I have started stalking her Instagram feed! ❤️
Larissa Theige says
I keep feeling like I want to refresh things, but then it was still cold here last week. Boo. So far, I think I’ve mainly putzed around, without much to show for it. Also, boo. But I did do some touch ups on my daughter’s dresser I’ve been meaning to do. And I sewed a chair’s back cushion, because my kids can’t sit on the seat, I guess. So I’m trying to count the little victories. Remote schooling also started today. I move art around all the time, so most pieces don’t have a permanent home around here. However, I’d be most excited to add it to my mantle at the moment. Thanks for the opportunity to win, Gwen. Best wishes!
Kelsey says
I’ve been obsessed with these art prints since you shared about them. That hint of red is just perfect! We’re surviving and doing our best to find a new kind of normal routine at home with our toddler.
Carrie P says
Your posts and presence on Instagram is the fresh, calming balm I need in these crazy times. We are indeed social distancing, and for this extrovert I’m already finding it a struggle. I love the room and the red hits in it. It’s hard to find that balance and you nailed it. And the painting is lovely! I’d hang it in my newly painted living room (it was wood paneled like yours) so I could see it every day.
Heather says
Gwen, thanks for figuring out how to share home content while social distancing. Your posts always strike a lovely balance between real and aspirational.
We tried our first day of “homeschool” today and it went pretty well, except that when I playfully told my kids they could “Call me Mrs. (our last name)” my son burst into tears and ran to a literal corner. I think quarantine has everyone a little fragile! I’d love to win that beautiful painting as a little spot of sunshine during a tough few weeks.
Christine McGee says
New follower here. This week I’ve found myself looking around my home, inspecting every nook and cranny, and empty wall space, and wishing there were more original and beautiful and creative things here to speak life to my heart.
Amanda W says
I love fun quirky pieces mixed in with traditional pieces. I also started my own bust collection, inspired by yours, which I’ve proudly displayed on our mantle!
Ginna says
Love, love the pop of red! It’d be such a fun touch in our modern kitchen!
We’re hanging in there- feeling a world of mixed emotions. At the same time everything is different and the same. I work remotely from home full time and my husband is flexible. We sent our daughter to my in laws during the week last week, but home this. Will be interesting to see what that does to our productivity- but immensely grateful to be working (and a bit of fomo with others pressing pause).
Praying for happier times!
Jen says
Hi Gwen! I recently found your account on Instagram and I just absolutely love everything you do. Including introducing me to Laurel’s amazing artwork! I love that she sees all the colors that we can sometimes miss when we are just doing the daily job of living. I think it’s a good lesson in times like these.
I would love to have one Laurel’s pieces for our laundry room which we are currently redoing! Honestly, I will be buying one (or more) regardless of the giveaway outcome because I love them so much! 😂
Thank you for your work and for bringing other great people into light. Keep on dreaming, making, and inspiring. Stay well. 🧡
Suzanne Aydlett says
Love Laurel’s beautiful artwork and love your living room! My husband and I are having to work (essential jobs) and we are hopefully getting our children back from my parents house 6 house away. Can’t wait to see them!
Paula Caldwell says
Love the changes.
I love the baby’s breath. It has always been a favorite of mine. I think it is so much more than a “filler flower”
The painting is great!! Her style is amazing!
Michelle says
Thanks so much for keeping up the content! Getting inspired for some home refreshes while we are stuck inside! Absolutely love her art!
Megan OConnell says
I love your living room!! I am beyond excited to buy a house within the next year (hopefully) and get to making it really my own. I’m not doing well, right now. We are working on postponing our wedding and figuring out our new normal around here.
Thank you for keeping a bright light on the internet and on your Instagram. It’s refreshing to have urge midst of chaos.
Allison says
Waiting for our first baby to arrive (a week overdue!), distracting myself from the virus talk by reading your blog & enjoying those paintings 🙂 thanks for sharing!
Nicole says
Your stunning living room has inspired me to do a refresh as well. Currently shopping my house for art and photos to switch out, particularly in my girl’s bathroom. I am a middle school teacher, trying to figure out this “distance teaching” thing (aren’t we all) ,with 3 daughters at home (ages 7,4, and 6 months). We are finding our new normal and adjusting. Trying to stay busy with learning, board games, but relaxing too.
Love these landscape pieces.
Sarah Z says
Mostly practicing my social distancing at home on the weekends, since I work in healthcare. Cancer patients still need their treatments and surgeries during this time !
But on the weekends, I’ve been making plans for redoing the landscape in the backyard and it’s nice to spend time outside thinking of the potential of the space.
I would put the lovely landscape in my living room to bring out the green accents of the room while giving it a splash of color with the red !
Anna McKinley says
For a social butterfly- this social distancing has been so challenging. Some days I waste, and others I have been stewarding my time better. I am a new mother and so enjoying our 6 Month old, Violet. What a gift her laughter is at times of silence in our house. I would love to use Laurels landscape in our guest room! I want to make over that room next, and it has our main storage closet in that room, so it’s a room I frequent often so I could enjoy it also! Thanks for sharing your gift with us Gwen! God Bless you and your family during this time of uncertainty!!!
Caroline says
Hi Gwen!
Thanks for sharing Laurel’s art, I’ve been trolling her website ever since trying to decide which piece I like best. She’s such a unique artist!
Speaking of painting, that’s what I’ve been doing. I ordered a paint by numbers kit because I’ve always loved the slightly kitchy but sweet look of them & thought I’d do my own. It’s honestly surprising just how much I zone out when doing it, which is perfect right now!
Love your style & thank you for all your thrifting tips 💜
Maria says
Loving Laurels paintings with the beautiful blue skies. Not sure where I’d hang it, may be the family room? We’ve been keeping busy playing board games, taking family walks at night wearing glow sticks, baking chocolate chips cookies, reading books I’ve waited too long to dive into, and just being together with no to do ‘s or to go’s.
Caitlin E says
I love your quirky style…and you make it all look so easy! Over here its been rough. All 4 boys home all day, I’m 2 1/2 weeks away from having boy #5 and one of my kids just tested positive for COVid-19. Like is this even real life. Lots of tears today. One of these prints in my nursery might really cheer me up!
Sarah says
I love Laurels paintings as they are so colorful and unique! I would love this in my home as I do not have much original art.
Also, keep up the great posts Makerista 🙂
Katherine says
Her paintings are beautiful! I started following her as soon as you shared her work!
I love your style and the fact that you stay true to what you love. It’s inspiring!
Erin says
Hi! My husband and I (with our 2 dogs) have been sf isolating in our condo since last Thursday, so I think that puts us on day 11? 12? Honestly, I love being at home. I’m an extrovert, but I’m also a homebody. There’s nothing I love more than a weekend with an empty calendar, so this is fueling my desire to be lazy and enjoy my home and company. With that said, thinking about what’s going on outside my 4 walls is causing a lot of anxiety. I’m so sad for the world. That’s really what it boils down to. Thankful for lots of great people like you who keep us entertained and informed. Thank you!
Shalonne Luke says
Ooo I’d love to add this to my wall above my bed. I’m looking for smaller art pieces to fill in my gallery wall.
Sanda Hadzisabic says
Love all of your mirrors and the black shade lamp! I was planning on starting the ORC but it postponed now so that will give me even more time to hang with my kiddos. I would put Laurels painting in my living room.
Ellie Reynolds says
Hi there—I loved being inspired by your living room refresh post! And thank you so much for introducing me to that fabulous artist (I’ve started following her on instagram). I am trying to keep my head through this shelter-at-home/quarantine time by learning how to homeschool my kids 😬, and sneaking in at-home workouts when possible. Although perhaps the greatest blessing is that we live right next to a huge Park here in San Antonio, and are able to explore all through the trails and fields while still keeping our social distance from others (so grateful to have this outdoor resource to burn off some of my 2 little boys’ energy). I also purchased an adult paint by numbers to try out. I love utilizing my creative side, but I feel creatively exhausted right now, so I’m excited to go through the calming motions of painting without the thought process behind it.
Anyways, it would be a dream to win that painting! Hope you and your sweet family continue to weather this event well. xoxo
Blake says
Love her artwork! Love your living room! Our fam is doing well – I really needed the shelter-in-place that we have in Cali to give myself a break from trying to be too productive. In hindsight, I was busy, rather than productive, most days. Recognizing that will change how I spend my days post- COVID-19.
Morgan Smith says
Ohh I would love this piece on the gallery wall in my office! The colors! 😍
Ali says
Beautiful. We’ve been keeping pretty busy with schooling. Trying to have fun but struggling to find much time for myself when everyone’s at home and needs something, not to mention, the messes. Pretty views help. I think I’d frame this and put it on my bookshelves or console table. It’s lovely! Thanks for spreading some beauty and happiness!
Briana says
Baking! All sorts of sweets and today I’m trying bread. The landscape is so sweet! Fingers crossed.

Buying our first home soon- a older home with great character and I’d love a beautiful modern landscape to hang in it! We’re doing okay during this down time- trying to look for the positives. Thank you for this giveaway!
Ashley W says
Love that red telephone and the spotted picture frame. The surface styling, in general, is inspirational!
Quarantine has made me obsessed with cleaning and redecorating! I’ve decided to replace the art above my coffee cart and one of these landscapes would be perfect. I love the rich colors and dreamy vibes! Thanks for the giveaway- stay well! 🙂
Elizabeth says
I was so thrilled to find Laurel’s work through your IG! Those pops of coral red are the dash of optimism I need right now.
Anita Scism says
I just recently became acquainted with your work and have found it so beautiful and inspiring! Your wall of mirrors and art have inspired my daughter-in-law and I to try your gorgeous wall on a wall in their new house (it has a cut out window similar to yours). We thought landscapes would be just right for their home and the giveaway painting would be a perfect beginning for that inspiration, too. Thank you for sharing your friend’s work and for Inspiring us!
Liz says
I already WFH, but I love having this extra time with my daughter at home with me, too. We’re slowly working our way through house projects, and spent the weekend cleaning up the yard only for it to snow again! We have a tight-knit group of neighbor-friends and we keep a steady stream of conversation going in our group text – I’ll miss the texts when life goes back to normal! I’d love to put the painting in my office – the green and hint of red go perfectly!
Elizabeth Dambrosio says
I’ve stayed inside and done lots of cleaning while my husband works out of the home and I’m working remotely with a cat as a co-worker. I have a tiny vanity that I have as my space and I would frame one of the pictures and put it next to where I get ready daily.
Emily says
I LOVE your work! Using this time to read more, take walks or get outside when possible, and lots of friends and family FaceTimes!!
Anne Hockenberry says
This slower time at home is a great time organize and refresh spaces. I’m also loving the extra time in the evenings to read. Introvert here, and loving it!
Catie Bausinger says
I’m surviving! Keeping my social distance and focusing on decorating my house. My boyfriend and I moved in together a few months ago (while also moving across the country…Boston to Seattle) and have the cutest little cottage near the lake. I’m always looking for new art to hang on the walls.
Leian says
Your living room refresh is timeless, yet so fresh. Lauren’s landscapes are breathtaking. I have always loved a small pop of red. I’m using Instagram as a distraction during this quarantine time. I am a triage RN who is going to work everyday. Please, please follow the quarantine rules, this is so very real. Stay safe and well.

I’m a newlywed just starting to collect art pieces for my first house with my husband (& dogs). We currently have a 1 BR apartment amount of furniture in a 3 BR house, yikes it’s minimal up in here! But at least social distancing has been kind of easy because he’s deployed right now. Love following your content to get inspiration for how I’d like to style my home (one day, eventually).
Jillian says
Love your update, and Laurel’s prints. Always excited to see how you style your spaces.
Molly Reynen says
Beautiful living room. Love the art giveaway!

Hi Gwen! Hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy. Sending you all well wishes. I’ve spent the last week and a half working on our home. We’ve been renovating it ourselves, top to bottom, for the last 5 years. With full-time jobs and the project being a full gut renovation, it’s been slow going. So one gift of this down time has been us having the time to dedicate to our home. It’s a great creative collaboration between my husband and I. Working on it during this time has helped me to stay sane, and has been a reminder that we can still build and grow, and that there are bright spots ahead for all of us. I’ve also been pulling out cookbooks and all of my favorite design books for inspiration! I’d love to frame this print for a spot in my guest bath, which we’re hoping to finish this week. Thanks for sharing your home and creativity with us. ❤️❤️❤️

Hi!
Thank you so much for sharing this post, I’m loving all of the greenery and that mobile on the coffee table?! I’m dying over it, I’ve been looking for one to use in my space for what seems like an eternity!
I appreciate the distraction of a giveaway during this time, if I were to win the landscape it would definitely go in my dining room next to the piano! 🙂 I’ve been getting back into playing with all of the free time I now have at home. Still waiting to hear if I will be asked to teach art remotely…
Leah says
I love the red phone! Such a fun unexpected pop.

Living room looks so fresh for Spring! I’ve been spending this time at home with my son and husband. We planned to buy our first home next Spring, but my husband was the Restaurant Manager for a hotel here so now because of the virus he and all his coworkers are out of a job. Still hopeful we can buy someday but not sure when. Anyway, thank you for the lovely distraction. Your style is so comforting.
Kate N says
Love the switch up! I followed suit and rearranged our living room and have dug our some recent thrifting treasures.
Art is a great way to refresh too. Love the red!
Rachel Guymon says
I love how colorful and rich your home is! So elegant and happy! My kids are spending a good part of every day playing together outside during social distancing, which is a great change for them! We live in AZ and the weather is perfect for that right now. And no one has thrown any punches yet, so I’m calling it a success! 🤞🏼 The pops of red in those landscapes are so good! Thanks for the giveaway!

Hello! I haven’t been up to much. I guess I should be decluttering and hanging a gallery wall I haven’t been able to get to since Christmas. If I won a piece of Laurel’s artwork I would put it in my entry way so I could see it every time I come down the stairs and guests would also be sure to see it!! I just LOVE her work! And also a huge fan of yours as well!

I LOVE your living room refresh! Love how you thrift most things, it’s inspired me to thrift more. The way you taught me to look through Facebook marketplace until more beautiful things show up on my feed works so well and I’ve found such beautiful things this way. So thank you for inspiring us and showing us how to make our homes beautiful. I love the landscape artist you’ve introduced! I would love to win this.

Soooo, while I’ve been social distancing from home for 10 days now…not counting, but counting…I’m also working from home (one of the lucky ones). This itch everyone has to spend their time refreshing is one I can’t really scratch, because all I’ve lost short-term is my commute. However, our meals are planned in advance and beautifully executed.
Now, this isn’t to say I haven’t my eye on a dot rug slightly similar to yours — and then Jewel Marlowe showed an amazing Hyyge & West wallpaper in her stories that I’m now craving. My style isn’t even close to either of yours, so it would be quite a different look, but that’s what I love about design.
Stay healthy!

Hope you’re staying healthy & sane at home! I work with college students and I’m navigating putting all of my programs online and doing my own grad school work at the same time. I have saved the upholsterer you recommended, as I’m in the KC area as well and have been thinking about having a couple of chairs redone. I love how bright your room is, I’ve been reading for a while & I remember when it was all oak, all the time, and I really think you made the right choice. If I were to win the giveaway, it would save on shipping, because I’m local. 😉 Looked over her page and she is really talented!

Your living room looks great. Oh how I’ve always dreamed of having a chaise.
We are well in AL and counting our blessings through this crazy time. I’ve worked in the yard/garden like a fiend. I’ve Organized and painted the garage. (I mixed my ridiculous hoard of paint samples with leftover white dove and now have a “soothing” pale blue-grey garage.) and I’ve spent more time than usual meal planning and prepping. This week painting the back door and hopefully some hammock time!
I have a thing for landscapes and would love to add to my collection.
Stay well!

I just painted my nasty rental cabinets a deep olive green and this would look sooooooo good on the backsplash!! Have to check out the shop

I’d love to freshen up the office space I now use 9-10 hours a day. Thankful for the room to focus while the kids are playing, but it could use a little brightness!
