Mixing cut greens into your store bought garland adds texture, interest, and allows you to make it your own! I wanted something pretty traditional to juxtapose the more modern painting by Ryan Strong and wire sculpture, so I kept things symmetrical and used lots of evergreens and boxwood. The hits of eucalyptus keep it current, and the silvery green brings texture. I love all of the natural elements against the jeweled mantle scarf – Frontgate needs to bring that back, don’t they? I am betting my girls battle it out for that thing.

Beautiful mantel garland! How do you keep the fresh stems from drying out?

I can’t get enough of this room now that you painted it. I remember it when it was the “wood room.” The color you chose could not be more perfect. It’s just beautiful!
