I’ve been doing a lot of comparing and contrasting this week – comparing the plans for our future home with the rooms we have in this house now. I’ve read it’s a good idea to physically map out room sizes, head to a parking lot and tape things off or the spot where you’re building and get to staking. But I’ve found that it’s kind of hard to really grasp sizes that way. Walls and furniture make a big difference! So I’ve been measuring out the plans within the spaces of our current home. Knowing the future laundry room will be a few feet wider, for instance, gives me a bit more room to store vases and cleaning supplies. I look forward to that, but this space is such a joy to be in and has really changed my thoughts about doing laundry. Proof size isn’t everything, it’s how you maximize and dress it.
