Last Saturday we got together with some family to celebrate my daughter and niece’s second birthdays. Being just 2 days apart, these cousins have quite the special relationship and my sister-in-law and I were excited to celebrate it. I talked about it a bit here, but their party was the perfect scenario. My sister-in-law did all of the cooking, while I did all of the decor, and that made things so much more enjoyable for both of us.
While we divided up the tasks, I would be lying to say we did it alone. Our families are always willing and able to help with my often over-the-top ideas. My mother-in-law and I tend to think along the same wavelength, so she’s ready to jump right in and tackle it all with me. My husband’s grandma was in town and will get going on any task you give her, and the men in our lives are ready to move, lift, or set up what we ask of them. When all was said and done, our family was there to help clean up and scrub dishes. It’s a total team effort.
Some people will look at this and think, “For a 2-year-old’s birthday? What’s wrong with Chuck E. Cheese?” Absolutely nothing is wrong with Chuck E. Cheese. This is just something I love to do, so for me it’s a no-brainer, and I’m lucky enough to have loved ones who go along with my crazy.

The truck drink stand is perfection!!! Where can I get my hands on an old pick-up just to use at parties?! That would be awesome to have in my prop closet. It all looks fab Gwen! You made it very special 🙂

I wish I had a truck like that… readily avaliable whenever I wanted it! Maybe I need to phone my father-in-law? The birthday party looks like it was a lot of fun… and the decorations are super cute! I applaud you for putting this all together while trying to move.

I think your party looks so sweet and darling! My favourite part? Those painted strawberry stones. Well, I could handle all of it of course. Taking notes for my 12 yr old's party next month actually!
"What's wrong with chuck e. cheese?" Plenty and I've done more than one chuck e. Cheese party. A nice family party with good food wins every time. If I'm going to be stressed, I'd rather it be for a job well done rather than dealing with bad food and other people's screaming children in public. I'll take my own kids screaming at me, thank you very much.
