Welcome to the last day of the Blogger Stylin Home Tours! If you’ve been following along all week then you’re probably joining me from Restless Arrow – welcome! If you haven’t visited any other homes on this tour yet, you’re in for a treat. Head to Lindsay’s blog for the start and enjoy catching up! I must admit, Thanksgiving has never been my favorite holiday, but I think I’ve garnered a new appreciation for it.
I’ve actually never set a table for Thanksgiving. This will be the first Day of Thanks we celebrate in our new house, and it’s the first year I’ve had a proper dining room. Not that a designated room is necessary to celebrate, but having a specific space to carry out such traditions has been exciting.
Because I love to begin any project with traditional bones, I borrowed my mother-in-law’s beautiful Spode dishes for the jumping off point. The mix of feminine florals and masculine animal scenes is just lovely and brings a lot of personality to the setting. A big white platter adds some weight and the gold flatware and light blue linens feel modern.
Colored glassware is a great way to add a punch and can be found so inexpensively at thrift stores. I love the blue mixed with the more stately silver goblets, also found while thrifting.
Table runners can be pricey, but making your own is rather simple and gives you so many more options. I found this fabric for $4 a yard at Old Time Pottery and sewed the runner out of two yards in a few hours. The graphic pattern plays nicely against the plates, and the maroon and pink are pretty against the ink colored walls.
The one thing that takes this tablescape from pretty to punchy is the candles. White candles would create an entirely different look. For just a few dollars at Ikea, you can add a lot of excitement to your next dinner party.
Thank you all for stopping by! My three year old took that picture. I’m not sure which is more impressive, the fact that I’m in focus or the fact that I’m not in sweatpants.
I’ll be back next week to talk more details wait until you see the beautiful and delicious food! and I’ve got a big reveal on Monday that I know you won’t want to miss. Head on over to Bethany’s for the next leg of the tour and happy weekend!

You found those blue goblets thrifting?! They remind me of the goblets my mother always used for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Such a pretty table! And I think u have a budding photographer on your hands 🙂

I was just thinking of making my own table runners, so that was super timely! I may just cheat and use fabric tape though, rather than actual sewing… Our table is not that large, and oblong and no table runners ever seem to quite fit, so making my own it is! Your florals are beautiful, too.
