Happy Saturday! We’ve been officially on lock down for six weeks now. It continues to be a mix of difficult and wonderful details, but I know we are incredibly fortunate during this time. We are healthy, safe, and Micah has been working. Homeschooling two children while taking care of a three-year-old and trying to work myself has proven to be tricky. I’m staying up later just to have a bit of personal time and having to let a lot of things fall by the wayside like blogging and working out but I’ve spent a lot more time talking with neighbors and being with my kids.
My friends at Frontgate kindly reached out and asked if there was anything they could send my way to make this time a bit easier. I was ready for some fresh bedding, especially since we’ve been spending more time in bed this is often where you can find me and one of the kids watching a movie. Frontgate products are the best quality. Micah and I still use the towels my mom got us for our one year anniversary (over 10 years ago!) daily. I love a crisp white sheet, and this sateen set is cool to the touch – perfect as the weather warms. The embroidered detail brings that bit of something extra. The blush quilt was totally an emotional decision. I typically like a more neutral bed, but this color pulled at my heart. I like how it plays with the sunroom wallpaper and chairs, yet is muddy enough to still be very calming. The texture and feel is really luxurious. Our seven-year-old, Milly, got the cutest expression when she saw it and felt it “I want one of these!” and has found many excuses to get snuggled up under it. Scroll for more pictures, sources, and a giveaway.

And we didn’t forget about you all! I’d love to hear updates on how you’re doing in the comments, and we’ll give away a $300 gift certificate to Frontgate. You can see more of the master bedroom and sources here. Here is a look at more of our bedrooms.

I have really loved this quarantine time to be able to connect with our family. Family board game and movie nights, baking And discovering new recipes (we found some yeast, yay!!), crafting and making, it has been such a sweet time. I will forever cherish these memories! I hope everyone out there is safe and healthy. ❤️

My family and I are doing well. Trying to get the older going with the whole homeschool thing now and watching my toddler make me feel a little crazy at times, but I am loving all the extra time together.

What a lovely giveaway! Morning snuggles with our girls in bed are part of our essential routine now and loving every minute of it. Would love some new spread for our bed for the summer, it’s already 36 degrees in CA!
Danielle says
Doing okay! A little harder to motivate from home all day but I’ve gotten more used to it. Love Frontgate!!
Sarah Meeks says
We are finally hitting our stride. And we just adopted chickens to fill some time! My girls are excited for something new to love on.
Laurie Mitchell says
I am enjoying being home from our office and love everything garden and home. Thank you always for the beautiful inspo you bring. A gift certificate would be awesome right now!
Chelsea J says
We were able to purchase our first home during quarantine thanks to good timing and God’s will. Looking forward to decorating. Your home is an inspiration!
Kirsten says
I’ve gotten into a grove as well and have redecorated probably 5 times by now. I’ve been enjoying your content during this time. Definitely craving more human and social interaction.
NC says
My house is still a mess but I’ve tackled several problem areas – baby steps!
Allison Tignon says
This room is the epitome of classic, yet so fresh! That quilt looks like a dream. Your nightstands are one of my forever favorite pieces from Frontgate. Frontgate quality truly is superior. You introduced me to them, and now I’m a customer for life!
We’ve also been doing well in isolation. Our kids are small and completely content to enjoy life at home. That’s a blessing. Wishing you and all your readers health!
Erica Leise says
I’ve been eyeing that chest on front gate for months! It looks great in your bedroom!
Aly says
So nice of Frontgate! I cycle through anxious, sad and very very grateful! And I’m ready for spring and to spend time outdoors – I think that will help. Working on a patio update will be a fun project!
Alissa Englert says
Love all the details so much! The different textures displayed are amazing! We’ve definitely found a new routine, and I find myself really enjoying the slower pace that comes along with the quarantine!
Maura says
Feeling grateful for a healthy and safe family. And like so many, I’m reminding myself this is temporary. We listed our home about a week and a half before the lockdown started in St. Louis. And went from at least a showing per day to one in the last 5 weeks. And the house we had our heart set on has since sold. But compared to what so many are facing, these are temporary set backs and we’ll come put just fine on the other side. Question for you: While the inventory of houses has plummeted, the amount of land for sale has come up in our area. We’ve started liking of building. I know you once considered it, but did. Can you tell me what lead to that decision?
Amber Polk says
We finally adjusted to a new normal only to be told this will be our last week working from home and will return to a normal schedule. I have a child with an auto-immune disease that makes him immuno-compromised so its scary. He’s a teenager so he’s aware of whats going on and we’re all taking extra precautions. We are so ready for camping and kayaking trips!
Audrey kuether says
I love your bedroom. You did a good job styling the bedding!! We are doing great on lockdown. I actually have been preferring this slower pace of life.
Thanks for the great giveaway! I love Frontgate.
Adrienne Greenberg says
I just bought my first place all by myself and I am deep in the stages of planning my bathroom remodels. I’ve been getting such great inspiration from your blog. Right now I’m deciding on the tile backsplash for the bathtub/shower. Getting a gift certificate from frontline would be so helpful, love their stuff!
Abbe Walsh says
Honestly, tired of it all. Thankful for health and work but this comes on the heels of a particularly stressful season and a break sounds really good about now. Beautiful job, your home and thoughts are always inspiring!
Cheryl Todd says
Trying to finish painting my kitchen cabinets. Wanted to get them done before my son’s high school graduation party. Well, now that may not be until July if ever, but still trying to get it done.
Christina says
I guess I’m adjusting to this new normal? I’m getting better at working from home. I miss my friends desperately though and can’t wait to hug them! That blanket looks super cozy!
Emily Morrison says
This time has been oddly good for our family. Our kids (4 & 6) have played really well together most days, my husband and I have had more time around each other than ever (for the better), and all the cooking and baking I’ve been doing has been a unifying factor in the house, even is our bellies are a bit fluffier than before.
After saving for two years we got to green light our deck and now the kids & dog can access the backyard so much easier than before. It’s such a dream! I’d LOVE a Frontgate gift card to go towards our saving for outdoor furniture!
Cait says
These past few weeks have been the hardest so far. Birthdays passing and my husband and I both had to begin taking pay cuts. Trying to hold onto the silver linings that I am thankful we are still employed and we can look forward to celebrating with our friends and family after this is all over.
Andie says
Beautiful room! I’m obsessed with your vintage finds. Adds so much character and originality. It’s so nice to be able to escape and find some normalcy with things like this. My bedroom has been my sanctuary lately. So important to have that in this time!
Carol-Le Braden says
Hi Gwen! Also a fellow Kansas Citian here, the family is experiencing much of the same that you described. A strange mix of extremely difficult along with some wonderful moments in this slowed down more simplistic time. My husband and I have been keeping our minds and hands busy by transforming our formal living room into a library! It’s been such a welcome distraction and keeps me from refreshing the news too much. Hope you all continue to stay well! Love the new linens!
Carlotta Lacy says
I can’t wait to update and put some work into our outdoor spaces once the weather cooperates here in Chicago. With both my husband and I working from home and homeschooling 4 kids, I need an oasis.
Haylie Blaise says
Spending all the newborn snuggles in our bed just wish we had more than 1 set of flannel sheets 😬 but don’t worry- we do wash them weekly!! Love your bedrooms Gwen and all your perfectionist ways to make your bed look so dreamy 👌🏼
Julie says
Beautiful home as always, Gwen! 🤩 My husband and I love following you through your home posts, so you’ve definitely become a big part of these quarantine weeks! We’re doing well. I used to go on campus for college, but now finishing up the semester online, and on Easter, we found out we’re expecting our first! So we’ve been cleaning out a spare bedroom and organizing in hopes of designing it in the following months!
Channing says
Your quilt is beautiful! I want to do a bedroom refresh. I was looking at dressers and chests from Front gate. I’m holding up ok. In general I have a positive attitude, but there are times I feel sad. I’m thankful to have a job that I can work from home. I try to stay home and do my part but I do miss going grocery shopping without an adrenaline rush 🤣. The nice weather is making things better. I’m most looking forward to thrifting after this lol, I know people are clearing out their stuff and I’m hoping to scoop it up!
Savanna Rush says
Your bedroom is so beautiful, I’m obsessed! I think this lock down is an interesting time for all because everyone’s experience is different. I work in healthcare and my husband in finance so we are both working our normal hours (if not more?). We don’t have kids yet and I can’t imagine what it would be like to try and entertain a house full of them with no outside activities to go to! I love following along if your beautiful family and I continue to be inspired by you and your amazing style! Hopefully we can all get back to thrifting soon!
Noreen says
My new tag line is “the juggle is real”: full time job, full time parenting, full time anxiety. But(!) brighter spring days and some rearranging and reconfiguring of our house are keeping me sane. We cleaned out two long neglected closets AND are finally getting a space designed for a home office!! Lovely post!
Abigail Kusterer says
We are doing okay. Thankfully my husband’s job is secure and he is able to work from home. Plus my pregnancy nausea is finally subsiding so that’s making everything easier! We are trying to really deep clean and take this time to make our house a pleasant place to be so your blog has been really helpful!
Stephanie says
I too feel like we’re adjusting and adapting to this new normal. Getting projects that having been lingering checked off the list and learning new skills (wallpapering!).
Kim says
This is beautiful. Seeing beauty does my heart good. I’m fortunate to have a job that easily lends itself to working from home. I live alone and struggle somewhat with loneliness. Missing hugs from my church family. Overall I am doing well. I hurt for those who are not.
Kristen says
Loves wonderful! We are updating our master bedroom during lockdown too! So far- just got it painted but am looking forward to new flooring, fixtures and more!
Brooke says
Hi! I work as a restaurant manager but am currently unemployed like many others due to COVID-19. Although sad, I am soaking up my free time with my fiancé. I have never been able to experience what most consider a “normal” schedule due to my hours at the restaurant. So, I am truly enjoying making dinner, watching a show, and going to bed at the same time together! The smallest things can bring the most joy when you don’t usually get to experience them. Other than that I have been crossing things of a very long to-do list of things I have wanted to accomplish for years but never could find the time. Organizing the pictures on my phone, updating my address book, writing down cherished recipes, and making photo books for family, and of course home improvements. Thank you for offering this little giveaway! We all need a little something to look forward to right now. ❤️
Michelle says
Hi! Doing well here. Making the most of staying home by cooking new recipes, organizing a few spots around the house that need it, and being inspired by beautiful homes like yours. The new bedding is beautiful and the chest next to the bed- just lovely! ❤️
Rebecca says
We are making it work, because we have to but it is just to be with our daughter this much. Otherwise she would be at daycare and we would miss all of these moments. It’s a gift, even if it is hard on many levels. We have lots to be thankful for! Also, I know you’ve indicated that your master still needs some work but I love how calming it is. This is your oasis. Personally, I love it!
Adrienne says
I love the classic look of the Front gate quilt, yet there is something modern about it too! Six weeks of quarantine is definitely starting to feel old, but I’m trying to be grateful for what I have and find joy in things like gardening and spending more time outdoors with my kids. Thanks for all the inspiration you provide!
Jeana Miller says
We’ve been spending our time at home focusing on family time and finally tackling long awaited projects. Thanks for all of the inspiration!! Front gate is wonderful (and a tad expensive for us bargain shoppers). Your bedding additions feel very collected and thoughtful like the rest of your house. It’s very kind of them to offer this to you, and also for you to offer inspiration on how someone could put it to good use!!
Natalie says
Such a beautiful room! We are safe and well but the hardest part of quarantine has been watching our 3.5 year old struggle with it. Aside from struggling with the changes to her normal routine, she is super extroverted and misses seeing people. So much so that she presses her face up against our fence and tries to talk to people passing by outside on the sidewalk… which is pretty funny but also sad!
Erin says
Love those dressers! I remember when you first got them; they are amazing. I know a lot of people are struggling right now, and I am in no way trying to be insensitive, but this homebody is living her best life right now! So many projects are getting tackled and checked off the list, before this baby is due in July (my first). I am looking forward to getting back to normal, but having to stay home has really helped motivate me to complete the projects I’ve been putting off. I hope you and yours family are doing well! Thank you for continuing to provide beautiful content.
Andrea says
Teaching zoom dance classes from home, spending lots of time with my husband and 3 kids, working on house projects and garden projects when the weather cooperates in northern Indiana. Have loved your blog for years now; thank you for always being a class act. I’d love to buy some fun new house things from Frontgate!
DL says
I love your blog,,, I am a hospital Infection Prevention nurse so no lock down for me. I love my job and realize the Necessity of continuing to work daily, so I’m not complaining. When I get my downtime at night I always check your blog for new post and/or just surf your archives. It is a great way to way to wind down. By the way this is the first time I’ve ever made a comment on a blog. I just couldn’t resist. Lol. D

Beautiful refresh! Love the pink toned spread and I keep eyeing that bedside chest. So pretty! Been staying busy and laying low cooking and baking and totally enjoying helping my daughter and son-in-law with our four grandkids who have been living with us since October. I always enjoy following your stories and blog Gwen! Always such beautiful content! Stay well!
Dani D says
I don’t know how I’ve never thought of adding a quilt to our bed, it looks so beautiful! And I appreciate the lengths you went through for the gorgeous shots as well 😉 were hanging in, hard to believe it’s six weeks in. Parenting and working from home all at once is no joke! Thanks for the distraction 🙂
Esther says
Always great to see how you do things. At this point, I’m spending most of my time out in the yard. I’m getting my pots cleaned and organized. For me , being outside always helps.
Laurel says
Gorgeous! I do love those nightstands! I feel like I’m drowning a bit in the quarantine. It’s hard to keep going but I am thankful for my health and my home.
Ricki says
It took some time, but we have definitely hit a groove where this feels (almost) normal. I am embracing this time as an opportunity for family togetherness that we may never have again, so trying to make the most of it. The hardest thing for my kids is missing their friends. We are building a home quite far from here, and they fear they won’t get to spend time with friends before moving. I feel for them!
Samantha says
Our lives are relatively the same because we homeschooled before everyone else did, and my husband and oldest son are still working. It’s been the hardest on my teens that are very social. They miss people! We miss our beloved church and small group. Online meeting isn’t the same. ☹️ We were in the home building process, but the state of WA closed down all construction that wasn’t a government contract for some unknown, very political reason. We hope to get back on track soon! Very pretty bedroom!
AnnaLynne says
I love that quilt color! I’ve been quarantine-daydreaming about velvet dining room chairs that color! I have to say, I feel very lucky that I’m a homebody, introvert, stay-at-home mom to a 1 year old right now, because for the most part, our days have looked pretty much the same, haha. Though I could use a trip to the children’s section of the library. I’m getting a little tired of our book selection on repeat. 🤪😊
Peggi says
I love the look of that quilt! The way it plays with the wallpaper is fab. I have actually hit a struggle point this last week. Trying to teach distance learning style is…disheartening. The sunshine and long walks help, as do your story updates! I’m also scheming a bedroom update, so off to search Frontage for nightstands!
Brooke says
I’m finishing my first year of law school. It has been a beautiful experiences knowing that I can refocus and thrive in any situation.
While not exactly what I had envisioned for this year, I am so grateful for a big dining room table to study on and a nice dark bedroom (god bless blackout curtains) to retire to.
Plus I get to spend so much quality time with my sweet black lab – who has THRIVED with all the extra attention and treats the past 6 weeks!
Julianne says
Love the bedroom refresh. I’m upholstery a chaise (or creating a chaise) for our sitting room in our bedroom during the SIH order. I realize I will need new bedding for the bedroom based on the fabric I picked for the chaise. We are homebodies so it didn’t affect us too much except my daughter misses playing with her neighbors.
Kirsten says
The updates to your bedroom are beautiful! I am so thankful to have all my children home and feeling so blessed we are healthy and safe.
Jaclyn says
Overall, we are doing fine. I have three daughters and they are definitely handling it better than I thought they would. Our family has been in a similar situation before though; we often had to self-isolate when our youngest daughter was going through cancer treatments. The economic future of my husband’s job is uncertain, which adds stress, but overall we have our health and are hanging in there. (Side note: we strongly believe that 4/5 of us had COVID-19 in February!)
Kate Nelson says
I’m trying to work and mange the kids school at the same time. So tough but we are thankful for jobs. Thanks for your posts!
Megan Scanlon says
Love the new bedding! Ive been eyeing bedding for a while but am SO indecisive by nature…big sigh! I’ve discovered I’m not quite as patient as I once thought I was especially with homeschooling my daughter amongst 3 under the age of 2…it’s tough! Still the introvert in me is still finding many bright spots and I’ve learned to appreciate the little things much more!!
Emily Ward says
Lovely refresh for Spring! Call us completely crazy but we are in the middle of selling our house and moving! Being quarantined at home for the last 6 weeks, we have been fixing up the low priority things around the house in preparation for our move. A little treat from Frontgate would be so fun for our new house! Maybe some planters for the front porch?
Kristen Jones says
We are hanging in there! I have a four year old and one year old and we’re currently living at my parents’ horse ranch. Which is great! And a little challenging all being together alllll the time. Trying to find a place to move to is difficult right now! But necessary because my husband got a new job and is still working through this as an essential government employee. Phew! Loved seeing these bedroom details!
Kayla says
Beautiful. I’ve always loved those bedside chests! I feel very similar as I am now homeschooling two elementary age kids and trying to balance all of it. I sure do miss my quiet time..
Courtney Allen says
We’re hanging in there! Keeping busy with the kiddos. Lots of nature exploring! Absolutely love this bedroom and the classic look Frontgate offers. Would love to win this giveaway!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Anne Weber says
LOVE that nightstand. Can’t wait to hit up the front gate outlet near me (Cincinnati, OH) once stores open back up!
Kristina says
I think there is something very memorable for young children about their parents bed! My middle son melts my heart; he told me once he likes to sleep on my pillow because it smells like me. We are getting along during this quarantine, and have rearranged all the bedrooms! A little help from Frontgate would be a great way to put a pretty bow on top of these refreshes.
Stephanie O says
It looks beautiful! I’ve really been enjoying all of your insta updates, and am especially excited to see your playroom reveal. Your blog is a joy. Also—thank you for bringing frontgate to my radar for unique and high quality items!!
Christina K says
I love Frontgate outdoor furniture but I didn’t know they did bedding as well! I am holding up well—35 weeks pregnant and slightly bummed out that everything was cancelled (baby shower, maternity photos, etc.) but none of that is important in the grand scheme of things!
Aryn says
Love the refresh and this room! I’m currently using this time to organize and nest for baby #2. Time goes so quickly and this has been a poignant reminder for our family to slow down and reevaluate priorities. Thanks for the great content, shared knowledge, and unapologetic style!!
Christy says
That’s such a beautiful room! I’m home with a four month old so life isn’t a whole lot different in lockdown. I did manage to get family photos on the wall today so I’m counting that as a huge win!
Amy Kariotis says
Week six of lockdown has had its ups and downs. It is quite difficult to have two parents working from home while trying to homeschool. The upside to everything is that my husband has taken this opportunity to do home projects we just couldn’t find the time to do. On our list is: new back deck, new white vinyl fencing, doing those built-in Billy bookcases from IKEA you did on the blog and redoing our guest room/playroom. Your blog and Instagram are refreshing and inspires my own creativity during these times. Thank you!
Kathy says
Your bedroom looks beautiful!
I’m an introvert and have kind of enjoyed this time at home.
Lindsey F. says
Love love love this sweet corner of your bedroom. Six weeks of quarantine has definitely been a struggle but I do feel that the first few weeks were the hardest. Each day is easier but I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to go shopping/thrifting or just be with friends.
Laura Ingalls Gunn says
Such a peaceful bedroom! This week was probably the hardest. We had to cancel our long-anticipated trip to Ireland which was to be a graduation gift to our son. This, of course, follows the cancellation of his graduation ceremony itself, prom, and so much more. But I have to say that I have never been more proud of my son. He has handled all of these major milestone disappointments with such GRACE. I’d love to look forward and select some wonderful things for his college dorm room from the Frontgate bed and bath collections. Fingers crossed.
Amanda Fowler says
Lovely! I love your mix of traditional with some modern touches! We’re hanging in there, definitely missing family and friends, but enjoying time coloring and listening to audio books. Stay safe!
Sarah says
We’re surviving!! We love the extra family time, and extra time for house projects. I’m a wedding photographer, so this is an incredibly stressful time for me, but thankfully my husband is still employed, so our income isn’t completely gone. God is kind and provides for us daily.
Tamra says
The room is lovely & the quilt is spectacular. I’ve been searching for a comforter or quilt for my master for the past 5yrs…returning more than 10 different options for being “not quite right”. This might be The One. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
April Halliwell says
Love the bedding and your style! I’ve been extremely busy working FT and homeschooling. This past week I took off to assist a skilled nursing center in New Jersey with Covid (I’m a RN and live in Maryland). I cannot wait to be back home!
Mindy says
I love your calm and elegant bedroom! I’ve been checking out the Frontgate dressers and chests!
Rose Flores says
Gwen, this is so gorgeous! I love that colored quilt, it looks so luxurious! We have been getting along pretty well during this quarantine, I’ve definitely enjoyed having entire weekends to stay home and work on projects and get creative. We are planting the garden next weekend! Thanks for sharing so much inspiring content during this time, excited to see the final results of your play room reno!
Ashley n says
I’ve been teaching myself to use all the power tools and redo my guest bath which has been super rewarding and strangely empowering. Love that quilt so much!
Shelley O says
Simply sophisticated. The texture of the quilt with the crisp white linens is stunning. In January my husband and I scheduled to have all of the carpet removed from the bedrooms and have hardwood floors installed in April. A major project during a world pandemic was not on our radar. What I have learned during this time is that perspective must be one that originates in gratitude.
Cindy Tanner says
Enjoying the extra time at home with my kids without the distraction of extracurricular activities. My day to day life seems very removed from everything going on in the world until I take a trip to the grocery store. I can see the stress that people feel. I am spending most of my day outside to manage my own personal stress.
Beth says
I’m all on my lonesome, so very thankful I have a furry friend by my side during all this. It’s really given me time to reflect on what I really want to change about my home (and to tackle some of the easier ones!). At the top of the list: outdoor space to give me some breathing room and vitamin d.
Patti says
It’s beautiful! I’m trying to embrace what a blessing it is to be home but it’s just a lot. With 2 working parents 2 kids on zoom calls and regular household work! however cherry street in Brookside is beautiful this time of year so I’m enjoying being outside
Jennifer Lizenby says
I’ve always loved your bedside tables. I’ve been on the hunt for a matching set that same substantial size but as you’ve said before, it’s hard to find pairs when thrifting. This week I’ve really been given a peace about the quarantine situation, bringing all my anxieties to the Lord in prayer.
Thank you for always sharing your home with us and even ironing all the details. 😉
Helen Ballinger says
As always, I so appreciate your expertise & valuable insight! Your posts are my guilty pleasure daily. 🙂 You have renewed my interest in all things antiques, so I’ve been spending a lot of time on all things design related for my home during the stay at home order. I have always said that your home should be more comfy than anywhere you stay on vacation, so being at home is pure joy for me anytime. I prefer it over anywhere! I wish everyone safety, health & wellness in this beyond difficult time. 💞
Heather Miller says
Your bedroom looks gorgeous. I never knew that soft styling was a thing until yesterday. My husband and I are like you and Micah although less handy. I find that if I spread out the projects a little it’s going over better. We have been quarantined since March 18th. I still have to work and my husband is high risk so that is stressing me out but otherwise I’m loving the free time and slower pace
Theresa Gue says
We’re hanging in there! We’re in NYC, so things aren’t easy but it looks like we’re over the worst of it!
Deb says
Such a stunning refresh! We purchased our home a couple of years ago and working on projects continually. Our master bedroom is next! Living in a home while you remodel is always challenging but the end result is so wonderful. Working from home has its challenges and benefits!
Nicole says
I had a huge surgery just before covid-19 made it’s appearance so I’ve been grateful for more time to heal and take care of myself and building my strength back up. I’ve been doing small projects around the house and finding inspiration for bigger, long-term projects.ibe also loved cooking with my family and spending lots of time together doing puzzles and playing games. Love your bedroom! There’s nothing fresh crisp sheets!
April rApisarda says
Love the “clean but collected” look. The layers of sophistication, traditional and modern are so unique today. Thanks for sharing. Quarantine life is not so different from our “normal” life, as we keep it simple. Homeschool can be a challenging set of emotions but we roll with it most days and mine are young enough to keep it fun. Thanks for posting and being a real but positive force on this platform. Enjoy the weeks ahead.
Kylie Briggs says
What a great quilt! We have a newborn, which is a true joy, but we are also grieving the fact that our one month old has yet to meet any family or friends in person. I am trying to focus on soaking up the snuggles in our extra downtime.
Tinny says
Such a crisp, refreshing bedroom…. Frontgate fur throws are my favorite 😌; very calming to snuggle with, especially these days. Not too worried though, it will soon be over. I’ve been really able to focus on schooling for my career. Wishing you the best comfort!
Jo says
So pretty! Still trying to tell myself we’re just being hermits more than usual. Most days it gets me through, but not all. Love escaping into home projects and working in the yard!
Emily Davis says
Being a stay at home mom to two young kids means I am used to social distancing. My husband is a physician so we have had to implement more protocols at home to insure we are staying safe and protected however. Thankful we are relatively unaffected and praying for everyone on the front lines and everyone doing their jobs to keep us fed and safe and healthy.
Jordan says
I could move right in! It’s spectacular! Trying to throw myself into home projects and yard work, but counting down the seconds until things get more normal.
Courtney says
Your bedroom is beautiful! I need to refresh our master bedroom, it’s a bit of an overlooked catch-all kid-free zone. It’s pretty haphazard. I’d love to give it a face lift. Otherwise we are survive here with two littles who don’t fully understand why we can’t see friends. Our go-to is creativity. I paint, they color, we create sidewalk chalk art, and hang up our new creations around the house to make things fun – kind of like walking around a museum of art – and we bake almost every day! Keeping our hands busy seems to be our solution.
Tara Clark says
Like most juggling homeschooling two with two jobs and two little ones that aren’t in grade school yet has it challenges but so very grateful for our home, food and health during this time. I’m looking forward to getting out and treasure hunting when we can get back out again! It’s the little things!!
Amanda says
I’m 50% over having everybody at home 24/7 and 50% loving the extra family and project time. This morning I woke and realized I’m at the rearranging rooms and shopping my house stage of quarantine, so I guess I’m just surprised it took me that long to get there!
Jackie says
Love the bedroom update! I am trying to update my home (recently moved) and am still working on finishing touches. Being home in the work in progress all day every day doesn’t help! That being said, feeling very lucky to spend this extra time with my family and new baby. Hope you and your family are well!
Amy says
Looks beautiful. I’m just so grateful for warmer days. I cannot imagine doing this in wintertime. Being able to ride bikes and play in the yard has been a lifesaver for our family.

You have a great eye, your master bedroom looks like a dream! I’ve been trying to make decisions for our master in our house we’ve been renovating but I think my brain is tired from all the decisions I’ve had to make everywhere else. I have a muddy blush headboard I’m trying to build around.
The weeks that we’ve been home have been good honestly, my husband is non essential military and he’s been home everyday! Sure is better than this time last year when he was deployed, so I’ll take the lockdown for now.
Niki Conte says
I just love all your touches in this space, it’s beautiful!
I am surprisingly getting a lot done now! The first four weeks were rough but now I’ve found my stride and am working hard to stay positive.
Antiena says
So pretty! I’m getting ready to change out my winter bedding. We are definitely spending a lot of time outside right now. The yard is looking good!
Katy says
That quilt is EXACTLY what I’m looking for- just in a silver. I’m also sorely tempted by the sateen sheets. It’s about time to rework my bedroom since I’ve been home so much!
Julie B says
Beautiful home as always, Gwen! My husband & I love following you through your projects, and you’ve definitely become a big part of these quarantine weeks! I’m a medical student that used to attend classes on campus, so now I’m finishing up the semester online. This Easter, we found out we’re expecting our first child! It’s thrilling, but an uncertain time, so we’ve been staying home & cleaning out a spare bedroom to create into nursery in the upcoming months. I cannot wait to begin the process!
Callie says
Working on remodeling plans and doing as much planning as I can while “trapped” at home, can’t wait to get back to antique stores and estate sales! Currently planning both nursery and living room, would love to be able to buy a dresser from Frontgate for the baby’s room.
Thanks for this fun distraction, and thanks for sharing the playroom progress, I’m enjoying following along!
Sara says
Beautifully done! It’s such a mood booster when your bed is made, especially with fresh linens. During this time I’m really just trying to focus on the little things around the house that I never could quite finish. And giving myself lots and lots of grace with this distance learning jive.
Shelbi says
I love that quilt and that nightstand! I’ve been enjoying my time at home and having the ability to update our master bedroom.
Danae says
Hanging in there – just barely! We’re getting lots done around the house which I am extremely grateful for at the moment. When this is all said and done, our house won’t look the same so I’m trying to embrace the time at home with family while bringing our house one step closer to where I always imagined it could be!
Nicole says
I am somehow getting less done? My daughter is three and since she is not in preschool or visiting grandma and papa I have no free time to work on home projects in our new old home. It is also so hard keeping her out of the office while daddy is working 🤦♀️ But overall we are doing pretty good.
Melissa atnip says
This is so lovely and calling. That quilt!!!😊
Melly Genie says
Seeing beautiful photos like yours sure do help busy my mind with ideas and inspiration. I’m truly grateful for this. Your palettes and textures are just stunning and so unique but creatively classic. By far my favorite account. Thank you! We are hangin in there like everyone else. My hubby is an essential worker on the frontlines so we will be looking forward to sweet reunions with family and friends. God bless!
Joellyn says
When I think about the activities and sports my kids are missing out on, I’m sad, but just about everything else about quarantine I am really loving. I’m trying to look at the clear calendar and extra time with my kids as a gift!
Stephanie DuCharme says
We always joke how we are a one sheet set family per bed. Ridiculous but maybe I just haven’t found some I love so much that I would need to have more than one at at time. We are doing so many home projects right now. They would have probably not have got done without being forced to stand still. And involving our kids in it all has been the best part!
Maria Oxender says
Several weeks before the lock down my mother-in-law moved in with us as my father-in-law battles cancer in a nearby nursing home. It has been an adjustment having everyone in the house plus one. But there really have been some blessings that have come about Through all this. I thought I would try to tackle a few projects around the house but just keeping up with daily tasks is challenge enough. The projects can wait! Your bedroom is lovely. Such a wonderful sanctuary!
Teri says
Just in time for me to order new dining room chairs. I love Frontgate products and love the projects you share on your blog. Thanks for the giveaway!
Heather says
Love everything about this!! ❤️❤️ I have been extremely fortunate and have been able to work from home during this time. I do find myself working so many more hours because my computer is just always close by and open. It’s just so easy to lose track of time too when there is no where to go!
Tara says
This room is so pretty and that chest is gorgeous! We planned on doing a kitchen Reno this Spring but obviously that is put on hold. Hoping to do some minor redecorating instead!
Tara
Martha says
We are doing well, but look forward to spending time with family and friends again soon. Getting projects done around the house has been a great distraction and exciting to think of coming out of this with them done ✅
Mackenzie Sheehan says
As uncertain as this time is, I’m trying to take each day at a time and to see the silver linings. I get to spend more time with my family. The lack of daily rush has been really welcome. I certainly am ready to get back to a semblance of normal, especially being able to do things I enjoy in my community, but for now it helps to take a deep breath and reflect on the positives.
Larissa Theige says
Hi, Gwen.
Thanks for the chance to win.
We are all healthy and doing well, although there’s definite anxiety. I’ve been working as a substitute teacher (vs. full-time English), and my husband is in oil and gas. (He hasn’t been laid off yet (was in 2016), but his brother was Easter Monday😢.)
My great-aunt died of Covid last Sunday, so that really brought the pandemic home for me, even though our state has been relatively lucky.
We are working on finishing our basement, so we can look forward to using that soon after 8 years. So every room in our house will be getting a quarantine quasi-refresh then.
Best wishes to you all, including your mother-in-law. I enjoy hearing you guys play and sing for her.
Stephanie says
I’m sorry for your loss.
Kimberly says
We had to miss our 10 year anniversary trip to Hawaii but we are trying to enjoy the extra time at home with our kids instead. On the weekends we spend time clearing our future building lot and that definitely brings joy!
Lydia says
Oh my goodness, the details in your bedroom are so beautiful. I love the bedding, and how cozy it looks. I love reading your blog and following you on IG. I’m doing ok! We recently sold our home (right as the pandemic was starting, and before my state was put under a stay at home order). We listed it abruptly after a scary incident with our neighbor, and we no longer felt like our family was safe. My little family of four is currently living with my parents while we look for another place to live, and wait for it to be safe to view homes again. I’m thankful to be safe and healthy, but so ready to be in our own space. Thanks for posting the giveaway! I want to be chosen, but I know it will be given to someone deserving. 🙂
Patsy Johns says
Hi Gwen! I LOVE reading your blog, Instagram and posts. My husband and I have 4 biological kids and 4 foster kids, so I have always joked that my style is “Bulletproof Eclectic French.” I love pieces with stories, because our kids need to know that God uses everything in their stories for a purpose. This quarantine has been filled with joy—puzzles and planting, cleaning and purging, refreshing rooms and sheets and woodwork. Your ideas inspire us!
Lauren K says
Beautiful choices! Quarant8ne has been okay, my kids are largely unaffected (7 & 4) which is great, but my husband is mostly working from home & getting cabin fever. I work remotely seeing patients, as I can’t see them in person due to an autoimmune disorder, which uas been an adjustment. We are mainly enjoying the time together as we know one day we will likely look back and treasure the extra time with our kiddos.
Kristen Beinke says
Love your bedroom refresh. The bed looks so comfortable! It’s been so fun watching you slowly redo things in your home. I really loved the outdoor chairs you recently purchased from Frontgate… I have my eye on those for my patio. So thankful to be healthy and praying for everyone that isn’t as fortunate. The anxiety of worrying about friends and family is hard and I’m so ready for this to all be over! Hope you and your family stay safe and healthy too! Thanks for the great content!
Christine says
Love everything you do! Your house is stunning and gives me a ton of inspiration! The bedroom chests are so elegant in the room!
We are tackling just about every room in our house as well as the front yard landscaping! Currently plant shopping and I had to take a break and read your new blog post while I sit on a rock on the nursery lol.
Can’t wait for more posts, I always look forward to them!
Stephanie Byrde says
Crisp, fresh sheets are one of life’s simple pleasures and your soft pink comforter looks divine for spring! I’m still working but now from home, and honestly enjoying it. Definitely love having our adult children home with us while also wishing we could go to a restaurant every once in a while!
Colette says
My kids and I are hanging in there. They aren’t too motivated to do school at home, but I try to make it fun and get as much done as possible. We are fortunate to be safe and healthy. Unfortunately, my husband is stuck half way across the country, because there is a military travel ban. We all miss him dearly and sad that he’s alone through all of this, but also thankful he is safe. Distance makes the heart grow fonder.
Suzanne Brandsen says
Fresh bedding is a very good idea for lockdown life! I have invested in 2 different sets of luxury sheets in the last few years and have been burned with disappointing quality both times. So, I’m very curious/excited about these! (Still have to find something!)
I have cystic fibrosis and so am expecting that I’ll be quarantining long after the quarantine has “ended” but really it’s one day at a time for all of us in this new world.
I’m grateful for a place that I can feel safe.
Thanks for hosting this generous giveaway! It’ll be a bright spot for someone for sure. Fingers crossed!
Lauren says
We are finding all the things we are grateful for, which seems to be prevalent all over social media. It’s uplifting to see this reaction in the human spirit.
As for real “what are we doing” stuff, well we have a huge front yard on a slope that is covered in ivy. I drew a plan and week by week I am ripping out ivy, pruning bushes and shopping fencing. In the process I am reconnecting with neighbors who walk by and it filling my bucket of happiness.
Francine says
Personally, I feel like each day is so different and that’s ok. One day can be wonderful and enjoyable and fun while the next is exhausting or sad or depressing. I try to take things just one day at a time. Our big project right now is redecorating our living room- new seating, rug, art, window coverings.
Sarah Morgan (sarahfabulous on Instagram ) says
We moved to the east coast last year to be closer to the family — my wife has been thriving with breast cancer for five years! This is our first spring in the home, and we’ve all be spending a lot of time in the garden and yard. Our home is almost an acre, so we have plenty to keep us busy. Our favorite is imagining all the spaces we want to update, such as garden beds, flower picking garden, swing set, and a fire pit to enjoy in the evenings. Luckily, your page gives me so much inspiration — I’m truly grateful for finding you.
Natasha says
We’ve really focused on doing a lot of things on our list that we wouldn’t have had time for if not for this forced slow-down. Like on a normal Saturday there would have been baseball and softball and all the other “errands” but instead we worked on our garden all day.
We’ve also wallpapered our daughter’s room(finally!).
We’re in NYC where a lot of people we know have had or know someone with Covid. Thankfully our family is safe and healthy and we have space to be together but not on top of each other so we are so very grateful. All the best to you and your family!
Jo Hastings says
My husband and I have been staying around the house, and early on in this quarantine time he decided he’d do some work on indoor projects. Our ceilings on the first floor were painted a soft beige which we liked for quite awhile, but we needed more light and brightness in our rooms, so he painted the ceilings their original white, he painted four rooms a nice greige color and then moved on to work in the garage. Painted the walls, one of them is a nice Royals Blue shade, and he installed a new faucet in the garage sink, plus a new faucet in the workroom sink in the basement. He has other projects planned (new flower garden in the backyard!) as I help as his gopher and cleanup crew! We are glad that Lowe’s has delivery or we have taken advantage of their awesome curbside pickup. We are blessed that we are well and pray for this to be over soon. We are missing time with the kids and grandkids, so projects have been a nice distraction. We are staying positive!
Suzanne Kryton says
Your bedroom is beautiful!
We are doing alright. In northern Canada and spring has finally come and melted all the snow so we are able to be outside more and that helps. I think you put it well that it’s a mix of difficult and wonderful details. It’s made me feel so grateful to have a backyard my kids can play in and that we can all be healthy. 😊
Elizabeth says
I was doing fine until I drove by a church and in huge letters it said “hope is not canceled” I started crying because sometimes it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Love your new bedding
Kathryn Good says
We are doing ok. Caring for children and working from home like the rest of the country. I have a condition that puts me at greater risk, so I don’t leave the house. Fortunately we live out in the country and have beautiful land and lots of fresh air. My kids have been sleeping in a fort for 40 days and it is looks like they may keep this arrangement for many more. We decided there was no use making things feel normal, so we are trying to make them feel special. The fort does the trick. We are also raising chicks, which is very sweet.
Ginger says
Love the nightstands!!! Amazing styling that was worth all the effort!
I hate to even say this but but husband and I both worked from home before this so not much has changed for us. Mostly missing our weekend hikes and dinners out.
Stefanie says
We’re hanging in there! Two working parents with three year old twins at home is quite a handful though. Trying to give ourselves & the girls lots of grace during what is not a normal situation and remember to soak up these moments.
Stacey says
I’m slowly starting to learn what makes me stop my scroll when it comes to interiors, and often it’s the play of varying textures and colors like I see in your room! I have finally stopped buying cute/cheap/good enough and I’m buying slower and more purposefully. After twenty years of marriage, my husband, who “doesn’t care at all about interior design” sat down in a room I had worked hard to pull together and he said “wow, this room makes me not want to leave! I feel comfortable here.” Victory!!
I’m one who is really enjoying being home right now. I’m savoring working on my home and being with my family! It seems everyone has a unique way they are experiencing this pandemic. For me, it’s unfortunately been a time of mourning. Still, the lessons of family, home, and a slower place are helping me heal. Thanks for your lovely feed and blog. It really and actually gives me joy!
Clare Nolan says
Full time RN here loving your posts, helping to distract me and make me sane!! I’m doing a bedroom do over and LOVE all of the inspo I’m finding on your Instagram (I’m a newbie here)! I love a neutral pallet with a bold color added here and there… I purchased all white bedding from sheets to Belgium linen duvet and love the idea of adding the blush coverlet! Love Frontgate!! Thanks for the ideas!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Gretchen says
Your bedroom looks beautiful! Our family is making the best of the slower pace. We’re enjoying time with our neighbors and doing the things a normal schedule just doesn’t allow (like game nights during the week and lots of baking). There’s definitely some stress about jobs and finances, but we lift that up in prayer and take it one day at a time.
Andrea says
Such a beautiful space! I’m keeping busy with crafts and doing stuff around the house!
Ana Mandowa says
I absolutely love your black side table/nightstand! Having a beautiful bedroom to relax at the end of the day is a must…especially now. I still need to do so much in ours, but I am so happy for our home even if we’re not done. 😉
Ashley says
Love that quilt! It’s so nice to escape for a bit and read your blog.
We have good days and not so good days. I’m happy for this time of closeness with my family but there is always an undercurrent of anxiety and sadness for what has changed and for those who are suffering.
Kristen says
I’m a true believer that your bedroom must be an oasis! I am grateful for the time I’ve had lately to create more of an oasis in my own home and spend time with the ones I love while enjoying the fresh new spaces. You are always inspiring me to want to do more and I’m so glad I am a pro at thrifting after following you bc I can do it all on a budget!
Lisa s says
Frontgate really does have excellent quality! I have been eyeing some of their outdoor items for our pool area. Holding up ok but sad that our graduating senior won’t get a traditional ceremony. He has worked so hard and not seeing him walk actress the stage is heartbreaking. Thank you for the chance at the giveaway!
Jen says
What a great refresh! I also like the coordination with the sunroom. Feeling comfortable in the home is something that is making these times easier. After isolating for so long I was able to go and help care for my 90yr old grandmother who recently fell and injured herself. I’m so glad that she is able to reside and recuperate inside of her own home and that I was able to help her when she needed it.
Alex corbett says
Stunning! Frontgate is one of my favorites!
Lockdown has forced me to hit off a ton on the to do list. This weekend we’re finally fencing in our backyard and restained our lanai!
Marcie Millholland says
Gorgeous. I, too, have blogged my thoughts on this shelter in place time. We are beyond 7 weeks and while we have a medical situation that is ongoing we also fell very fortunate to be well and safe and working. My father is in assisted living 9 hours from me and that is my biggest concern – seeing him again. Otherwise we are seeking the small victories and joys in each day and having faith that everything will be ok in the end.
Carolyn says
Love Frontgate…would be fun to finally win something. The bedroom is beautiful !!!!
Nicole says
Ah, your space on here is my favorite and always inspiring. I think, like most, I go through the long list of emotional highs and lows each week. However, gratitude always resurfaces for the safety and health of my family. I am pregnant with my fourth as well, so that brings many more emotions 😊 but again, so grateful my baby is doing well. You bring so much fun and inspiration. Thank you!
Emilly DeMent says
Hi Gwen! This quarantine has finally given us the time and motivation to transform our backyard! I finally have raised beds, claiming roses around my chicken coop, I tore out trees (a very proud moment! Girl power!). Well on my way to a half bath remodel too! Determined to make this time useful, and thankful I have a home to invest in!
MaryBeth says
We are doing well here, but missing our friends and family a lot. The warmer weather is helping, but making us miss grill outs, yard games and activities with others. So far, we have re-screened and re-stained our three season porch, started our garden, rearranged our bedroom and the kids’ rooms. Our master bedroom and our new home office (aka we stole James’ room 😂) both could use some style/design!
Sue says
I think that quilt can be a neutral, especially since it’s a solid color with a unique texture—love Frontgate!
I’m a high school teacher with two daughters now “doing college” from home; we are all remote teaching or learning. In trying to save money, our focus has been trying to deep clean and edit or rearrange what we already have. It feels good to love your home and want to be there, especially when you do not have a choice!
Jess says
I have a home to stay safe within, and that is a privilege. I work for a homeless shelter and the divide has never been more clear to me.
Your bedroom is beautiful! There’s just nothing better than new fresh bedding, right??
Andrea says
I vacillate between relief (that all my problems are small — my loved ones are well and I have a salary) and sadness. Like the rest of us, I assume… but thank you for the blog. It’s so mentally restful to look at lovely pictures of peaceful spaces.
Cher says
We just bought a house a year ago and have sooo much to do! We’ve been using our time at home to paint every room, and just redid the front lawn! Lots more to do before the baby comes in August!
Tiffany Warbington says
Hi! Your bedroom is beautiful! I love Frontgate! Our current bedding includes an older navy Frontgate quilt that needs replacing-thanks for introducing me to the Rumi quilt!
Our family is blessed during this difficult time. My husband and I are both public school teachers, and we are grateful to continue teaching online from home. The hardest part was leaving school on a Thursday in March not knowing that we wouldn’t be back to close out the year. Thank goodness for technology and Google Meet!
Anyway, thanks for posting beautiful, inspirational photos on Instagram!
Rachel says
We’re getting ready to move into our new house on Tuesday so I’ve been packing with my 18 month old and my 3 year old.. and did I mention I’m 20 weeks pregnant? Ready to be settled in our new home!
Lara Anderson says
What a scrumptious quilt, and that color is beautiful. It has been a roller coaster here. My husband lost his job, but he’s been offered another opportunity (praise be). And we had to cancel our upcoming trip to London that was planned as a 13th birthday celebration for our daughter. The hardest by far, though, is the fact the my grandfather is passing at assisted living and I can’t be there. I was permitted a quick visit the other day to say my goodbyes. My grandmother has Alzheimer’s and my mom was approved to be her care giver but she’s having to make some tough decisions, and I just feel so incredibly helpless. But there has also been joy and laughter and long walks and house projects and quality time spent as a family, and thank goodness for that.
Jessica Good says
What a beautiful and peaceful bedroom! I would be spending a lot of time in there too! We have enjoyed the extra time at home as a family for the most part! We have had a few big events that have been cancelled which has been a bummer but trying to look at everything in a positive way!
Lindsi Enoch says
I’m actually kind of starting to like quarantine. Spending so much quality time at home with my family feels like a gift.
Your bedroom is beautiful!!!! 😍😍😍
Lara Mortensen says
The bedding looks beautiful! Your hard work and metal tape paid off in spades! I’m getting antsy being away from people that I love. I just want to hug people and kiss them on their cheeks! The spring flowers and the beautiful sunshine definitely help right now. ❤️
Shane Strickman says
Grateful for a big yard and good weather so my kids can play outside! We are Californians, so we have also finished 6 weeks of quarantine. It’s starting to feel normal.
Ginger says
What a lovely sanctuary your bedroom is! Love Frontgate! I work full time and am grateful to have a great job and safe home.
Stephanie says
Trying to make the most of this stay home thing to make home feel more like an oasis, rather than a prison. With the weather (verrrry slowly) getting nicer, I’m going to make sure that our deck is beautiful (but functional), start our vegetable garden and finally, finally turn our garage from dumping ground to organized perfection!!
Patti says
One leg on a banana peel over here! No school for the rest of the year Here in North Carolina Summer break has come early. Would love some new covers to hide under!! Your room is gorgeous.
Katie says
We’re doing okay. Trying to make the most of staying at home with schooling and work. Thankful we are healthy and together during this time
Brittany says
Overall, 6 weeks of lockdown has gone well. I always say I love summer break with all of my kids home. Now we just get it for an even longer break. Homeschooling a preschooler and 2nd grader in a Spanish Immersion program has proven to be a challenge, but it allows me to brush up on my Spanish. And like you, I have been staying up extra late for some self-care and to get design work done. Thank you for always having some inspiration for us to draw from. Your eye for detail is impeccable.
Nancy Wander says
Your bedroom is beautiful and so calming! My 13 year old has helped me paint our small laundry room and my 8 year olds room. I’m really wanting to redo my bedroom now but I might have to bribe my teenager with more than cookies this time to help me paint yet again, ha. We are trying to keep busy with projects and schoolwork so that the days go by faster. Hoping that everyone stays healthy and safe during this time!
Mackenzie says
I’ve been rearranging a bit and trying to find art for a gallery wall I’ve just had fillers in for a while! Love this room even if it’s not “done” yet!
Kimberly says
It’s easier most of the time to not have to drag my four boys out to places… but then we do have the struggle that comes at the end of long days at home. I have so much to be grateful for and feel deeply for my friends and family who are not as comfortable as we are in these times. I’ve been wanting new bedding for our master since we moved to a new home five months ago (but have survived by rediscovering my duvet was double-sided!). Going to scroll Frontgate’s bedding now…
Emily Smith says
We are hanging in there. Working from home. It definitely helps that my kids are teenagers now. They can do school on their own. I’ve been researching new sheets for our bedroom. That is fun.
Christine says
Trying to find the joy in the small moments. Good to reconnect intentionally with people and focus on relationships. Certainly up days and down days. Husband and I are renovating a powder bath, which had been our first house project together. Learning the empowerment and fun of changing spaces that we now rely on more than we used to.
Cindy says
Beautiful! Love your spaces. We are getting to a bedroom refresh, hopefully soon! Fun things are coming after the necessary things at this new house.
Renee says
I just love when I see a new post from you pop up on my feed! The way you can layer and coordinate color and style is amazing. I love the quality of Frontgate – I’ve purchased some great outdoor pillows from them and am looking at more items to spruce up our backyard space.
Has it *only* been six weeks?! There are some days it feels sooo much longer with two little ones home and calling “mama!” 86 times, and no where to escape. My husband is working from home and trying to keep the kids quiet and out of the way is almost an impossible task. Then we have a moment where we’re all cuddling on the couch reading a book or making chalk drawings outside together and I’m so thankful for this “extra” time I get with them without preschool, extracurricular activities, and just life’s general distractions.
Amy Rose says
Fearful, naturally, anxious, but grateful for this time with family. Very appreciative of the front liners and all those doing the impressive + important work— truck drivers, delivery personnel, DoorDash workers!! We have been taking this time to sit closely with our architectural drawings and get ready for our own home when the landscape looks differently. Stay safe, everyone.
Sanda says
The quilt is beautiful! I have been staying busy by cutting trim and adding wall moulding. I learned a new skill, using the miter saw! If I was not doing a bunch of projects it would definitely be a lot harder to stay home for so long. I do love love the extra time I get with my kids.
Megan says
Good days and bad. I know some day I will look back on this time and miss it. The movie nights on our screened in porch, lazy mornings with no where to rush, and more time to experiment and grow new skills have been some silver linings!
Kerri R. says
Beautiful quilt and nothing wrong with picking a color a little out of your normal comfort zone. Regarding social distancing, as long as the weather is nice enough to get outdoors for a bit I’m doing well.
Laurna says
Thanks for asking. I guess we’re doing okay. I live in San Diego, CA. Sometimes, I enjoyed that life has slowed down so I have time to do things I enjoyed such as woodworking. Currently, I am sanding my end table and eventually painting it. Sometimes, I wake feeling anxious — it’s not normal to interact with my friends and family.
I can’t wait to get back to normal.??
Lori says
We’ve been using the time my husband has been laid off to do small to no cost projects. I’m amazed at what a difference it’s made.
Andreina says
This quarantine has helped me appreciate my home, my husband and my dog so much! I realize how blessed I am to be able to enjoy my morning coffee in my backyard while I log on to my computer to start working. Obsessed with these chests!
Jennifer says
I think everyone is spending a little more time in their bed these days. We welcomed our second little right before the pandemic and our bed is our safe haven and were we spend a lot of family time, just trying to establish some level of normalcy for our children.
Vale Cervarich says
Hi! I love how the photos came out. You’ve reminded me I like a more formal/ traditional bedroom, even if the rest of my house is more bohemian or transitional. We are hanging in just fine- hope you stay well. Xoxo
Fawn says
It’s hard to believe it’s been six weeks already! Working from home with a toddler has been challenging, but the extra time at home has me feeling extra creative, and I’ve been getting a lot of projects completed that I had been otherwise putting off!
Mandi says
What a beautiful color! It looks so cozy and I love Frontgate! It’s been a long month especially with them!
Kim says
Gwen,
I love your eye for new things and how you see beauty in things with history.
We have 2 college kids and 2 high schoolers at home, and they woke up yesterday to pillow cases covering the TV and computers! And we had a great day ending with dinner on the patio.
I’m a seven on the enneagram and an extrovert, but the Lord has been teaching me a lot about rest in the last few years. Lately, it has been very restful for my soul to work in the yard and I am so grateful!
I’m excited to see how your seeds mature! And your new quilt is lovely!
Kristie aka kb_studio225 says
Before our house fire, my bedroom was completely white. Bedding was easy for me to buy because I’d just look for white and texture. Your bedroom has completely changed my mind and I am coming over to the dark side! My goal is to try to recreate my new house master bedroom to look as cozy and beautiful as yours! Thank you for always putting out such beautiful, inspirational rooms. Frontgate has such gorgeous pieces!
Archana Bailey says
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your quilt! And totally can relate to not being able to do anything right now. I feel the same. 😫 We have been doing projects that we’ve been putting off for a while now! Also, can Ikea please be considered essential?! Ha! Nice work, on your room! I love Frontgate!
Heidi says
You’re bedroom is beautiful! We started off this quarantine with a new baby who is now 5 weeks old. We’re slowly becoming adjusted to this new life of sleep deprivation and newborn snuggles. The hardest part has been not being able to see friends/family or go out to eat! I’m thankful we are all healthy though. Thanks for ur inspiration!
Kelly says
Gorgeous new bedding. I like the way the mauve quilt coordinates with the wallpaper.
Cailan says
Just feeling really grateful for the privilege we have to stay home. My husband continues to be employed and I continue to homeschool our four children. It’s been good to slow down and finally have time to do the things we never seem to have time to do…we’re finalky going to get a puppy next week and I even started a side hustle of baking and selling carrot cake from my front porch!
The hardest thing is hearing about the suffering of those so much less fortunate.
Magen Kennedy says
Beautiful choices! Love all the colors and textures! NJ has been kinda cold and rainy lately which adds to the quarantine depression. Hoping that warmer temperatures and sunshine are heading our way. We are looking forward to buying new outdoor furniture and spending time on our patio.
Hannah says
God has given us some really sweet times amid the frustration and impatience that we’ve all been struggling with.

I love following you. You are so inspiring and I often feel like we are on the same wavelength. I actually have that same Frontgate chest in my bedroom. I bought it years before I began following you and fell in love with its antique style and it’s beautiful enameled finish. It’s probably my favorite piece of furniture I own. I’m also in love with Kansas City. My grandparents lived there and I visited twice a year and loved to shop and antique while I was in town. Following you gives me the opportunity to reminisce and I thank you for that. Thanks for the beautiful posts, they keep my creativity flowing which has been helpful during this time. I’m also a mother and I’m working full time from home which has been extremely mentally draining, but I’m cherishing this extra time with my kids where we can be together without a rushed agenda.
I miss yoga, driving and listening to podcasts, alone time and aimlessly wandering around Target and HomeGoods. Right now I look forward to getting my Frontgate catalogs (got one two days ago) and imagining how I could dress up my home.
As a family we have played more games, gone on more walks, cooked together, laid together on the couch and in the yard, fished, built things, and started a full garden. These Things we’ve done over the past month will encourage us to continue to be home and together after this quarantine. This too shall pass and I know I will look back on the unrushed time together fondly.

Beautiful space, Gwen! A serene bedroom is a necessity!
I’ve enjoyed this down time. My youngest son has weeks left of college. We’ve been great roommates through this season and we’ve both enjoyed the opportunity to be much more creative!
Stay well!

We’re doing OK here in western North Carolina. Spring is here and the flowering trees are absolutely gorgeous right now. Your bedroom is beautiful! Love it all.

Gorgeous, Gwen! We’re going on week 7 here in Houston with my 11 year old daughter and essential worker husband (thank God, I couldn’t handle tween hormones + school + hubby)😅 My bed is definitely home base, I would LOVE a bedding refresh. All the best to you and your beautiful family❤️

Your bedroom is lovely! The blush quilt is the perfect choice, I love the stitched details in the velvet
We have good days and bad days, worried about friends, families, and neighbors. Worried about the increasing numbers in our city here outside of NYC. Worried about making it through financially with bit of our jobs on hold until this is over. It’s definitely a time of slowing down and of reflection, but also a time of trauma and pain for so many. Sending love and strength to everyone!

We moved into our new home in February and I’ve been looking at your Instagram for inspiration. Outfitting a new home has been challenging and even though we are in a pandemic and things are taking a little longer than usual to deliver, we are happy we have a home, we have our health, and our family is healthy too.
Thank you for all your tips, they are greatly appreciated!!
xx,
Ilse

I’m a newish follower and have been finding so much inspiration in all that you do! We purchased a hundred year old fixer upper four years ago and are slowly tackling one area at a time. We recently finished (or VERY NEARLY FINISHED as coronavirus put an end to the work just a few days before the project was totally complete) renovating the exterior of the house, and now have moved on to trying to fix up the small yard well enough to enjoy the outdoor space this year, especially with being home all the time. Thanks for all the inspiration!
Sarah says
Well we painted unfinished open shelving in our kitchen… only took a pandemic for me to have time to do that! And just finally put up art from McGee & co in our bedroom, but man new lights are in order now! Love your home!
Bernadine Lang says
The quilt is such a beautiful and unusual color. Fresh new linens on a bed look so inviting!
Being indoors so much, I’ve been exploring decorating blogs. Happily, I discovered yours several weeks ago. I’ve viewed many different decorating styles, but I like the “unexpectedness” of yours. In planning my home re-do, I have been contemplating the use of bold colors along with neutrals and unique color combinations. Your blog has provided plenty of examples of courageous decorating, This will be fun.

I have been inspired by your gardening posts as well as your positivity during this time period. Front gate is a beautiful brand and your bedroom demonstrates how special a room can look and feel. Thanks!

I’m thinking about repainting my bedroom. It has been a deep cozy blue since the day we moved in. It’s very calming but I’m craving some light. I’ve also been working in the yard quite a bit. I changed my two raised beds to one in ground and expanded it. I created and planted a wildflower garden, and I plan to create and plant an herb garden as well. Overall I’m doing good. I’m a homebody and having this bonus time with my family feels like a blessing.
Kathleen Citron says
I have actually been doing pretty well. I love working on our home so I actually have my garden in order. You inspired me to plant some seeds, which are in the ground (here in NC) & I have been watering them daily! (Def an area I usually fall short !). I also just finished sewing Roman shades for our bedroom which is a task that has been on my list for over a year! I really love your Instagram & get inspired by the improvements you make to your home.❤️

Beautiful, as always! I so appreciate your fresh take on traditional! I am taking things one day at a time and enjoying the wonderful weather we’ve been having!

My husband took our three daughters on an overnight backpacking trip today! We have missed our friends, but are trying to stay in touch through zoom and social distancing porch visits. We’ve enjoyed lots of art lessons together and getting caught up on projects around the house. Plenty of time to water grass seed and teach our five year old to ride her bike without training wheels!

I live alone and it’s been very isolating. However, I prayed about it and my answer to prayers for about nine months was answered. I’ve adopted a beautiful dog I’ve name Eleanor Louise. She is a three year old mama who was abandoned when pregnant with 10 puppies. She had them three months ago and she came home with me last week!
She and I are currently planning out how we want to save for a house with a big yard for her!
Sarah White says
Gorgeous as usual, Gwen! That quilt is 😍. Our master is in need of some love and you dishing out some inspo! We are currently grace and fumes our house, tbh.

Ooh love that quilt!
We’ve been doing surprisingly good… enjoying all the family time!

I love your bedroom so much! the Frontgate bedding looks terrific with your stunning bedside chests. I have been working on my master bedroom during this lockdown. Our furniture was a cast-off from my friend’s Grandfather. It was serviceable but not attractive and the dresser was way too big for the space. I bought a new bed, re-oriented the furniture, and ordered some 3-drawer chests from Ikea. I plan to paint those F&B Down pipe. I am then going to add some hardware, possibly door knocker pulls. Still undecided. I am brand new to DIYing and I have definitely been bitten by the bug! Your site has been a real inspiration as well as educational. Thank you for all you do!!
Ally Sivewright says
Love, love this refresh. The color of the quilt feels classic but also fresh with the white and touches if blue. Our bedding is in desperate need of a refresh!

Gosh, I love this bedroom so much, everything you do makes me want to change everything at home while I’m here with the time to do it!

It’s such a pretty room. Thanks for sharing and for the giveaway opportunity. I’m working on my laundry room, using your gorgeous room as inspiration.

I’ve never seen anything quite like that quilt, very rich and elegant, and I think you did a great job as a soft stylist. I’m enjoying the slower pace and trying to find joy in revisiting and taking care of things around the house, hand washing and repairing special pieces of clothing, restarting books I put down halfway through, reviving plants, along with a little be more online browsing than I used to do!
Kristin says
I love the look of the quilt! For us, we have been thankful for this time together at home even though my husband lost his full time position at the beginning of the year. He had been looking for another job when the pandemic hit. We are seeing God’s hands actively sustain us and it’s allowed my husband to dream about his next career move. We are also thankful that we still have a home!
Katie says
Absolutely love the bedding! As a teacher, trying to virtual teach while maintaining life with a 2 year old and 16 year has been a bit challenging! However, I do think I will miss the slower pace when things begin to go back to “normal”.
Melanie says
So beautiful! I’m always trying to get my husband to see that adding some pink tones in our bedroom won’t turn it into a moulin rouge set.

This quilt really makes my heart smile. I could feel myself slipping under that quilt after a long day at work to decompress (essential worker in New York City over here). Your details in your home are amazing. Love your home and your sweet calming spirit. Be safe.

Hello!
I’m doing fairly well, all things considered. I’m a nurse in the Kansas City area who works the night shift, so when I’m not at work, I’m usually sleeping. Other than that, a lot of sleeping and bingeing whatever is new on tv.
Hope you guys are staying healthy!

Thank goodness for home goods that provide comfort during this time. I’ve been getting lots of projects done around the house while trying to come up with new ways to do my job. I’ve organized weekly car parades with my coworkers so we can see the children for whom we advocate even if just from our cars. It’s the highlight of everyone’s week!

We’re so ready for this to be over. I can’t even decorate my new house because this situation has my nerves wrecked.

We’re hanging in there. I feel like we’ve kindof hit our “groove” with my husband working full-time in healthcare IT from home, with me working part-time and watching our 14mo toddler. Some days/weeks are better than others. I miss people and having places to go, after being a SAHM for a year I had just started a new job in the middle of February, three weeks before all of this hit! Talk about timing. I’m also pregnant with our second and nesting so much, so being home a lot has given some fuel to the fire to new projects and ideas. Loving all your refreshes around the house for inspiration!
Danielle Guerrero says
Such a beautiful space, I’m holding up okay, some days are harder than other but I definitely feel like I’m finding my new normal.

We’re hanging in there!
I agree – love how the muddy tone of the quilt plays off the wallpaper in your sunroom. Would expect nothing less less from you, Gwen. 🙂
Candace says
Love the bedding and everything about this room. Staying safe and sane with a two year old…or at least trying to. 🙂
Dana says
That quilt is absolutely stunning! I’m eyeing the shams to add some texture to our bed now.
I’ve always been bad at prioritizing because I think everything is important and urgent, but this time at home has been such good practice for learning what can fall by the wayside and still be ok. My husband is an LEO and I’m working full time from home with two toddlers. Realizing that there’s literally no way I can complete my “normal” to do list from before all of this started and also sleep really took a lot of the pressure off.
Stella says
Love the mauve color! And really just your entire use of color 🙂 Some days are better than others over here. My husband and I are finding that work and a 16 month old can be challenging. But we are beyond blessed to still have jobs and health. I’ve never talked with my Granddad on the phone as often as I have during this quarantine which has been a true gift. Trying to actively look for the good these days.
Crystal Diaz says
I am just trying to survive at this point! Haha! Dad is deployed so the three babies (age 5,2 and 9mo) and I are staying busy at home and getting outside whenever the weather is permitting. Which isn’t very often sadly. This is such a hard time emotionally but I am so thankful for our health, safety and the ability to just stay home. Your bedroom is lovely and I so appreciate you sharing!

We’re working through the balancing act of working and schooling from home on a daily basis. Last week in an effort to just do something different I painted our kitchen cabinets and went bold with a gorgeous green!! (Behr Dark Everglade to be exact.) We just have to remember to take it one day at a time.
Lara says
Hi Gwen! The bedroom refresh is beautiful and the color of that quilt feels very much like you.
We are all getting stir crazy in my house but we have really warm weather this week so that will help a lot. I’ve had to step away from the news for a bit because it was giving me a touch of anxiety. I feel so bad for people who have been affected by this pandemic whether it’s losing a loved one without getting the chance to say goodbye, loss of a job, loss of a business. It makes me feel guilty that we are doing ok right now. We’ve been trying to do as much as we can to support our local restaurants and small businesses. I really hope and pray we can pull out of this soon.
Natasha says
I absolutely love this quilt! I can definitely imagine decompressing under it after a long day at work (essential worker living in NYC over here). We are taking it one day at a time while being faithful and prayerful. There are times when I get a bit anxious and fearful but I try to release that quickly because when there is fear in your heart it diminishes the faith.
Love your home and love your sweet spirit.
(PS Forgive me if you see my comment twice. I did it before but I don’t think it posted).
Be safe 🙏🏾

Your house décor is so pleasing to the eye. I love the elegant vintage touch and the colour palette. Here in Ottawa, Canada, my family, friends and I have been very fortunate as most of us work for the federal government and have all been able to work from home and still get our regular salary without issues. We’ve been on lockdown for 6 weeks as well and most people are very respectful of the new way of life (social distancing, only going out for essentials, etc). The next few weeks might proved difficult as the weather finally starts getting warmer (spring is always a month-month and a half late her in our region so it’s not unusual for temperatures to be quite brisk until mid-may). I am also fortunate enough to have a yard with a patio facing full south to enjoy the outdoors. Difficulties have been met in the way of homeschooling two children (7 and 8) while we both work from home. However because he has the more “essential” job, we’ve established a routine where I mostly take care of the children during the day and he takes over their needs after his work day (around 5 pm). We usually reconvene in the kitchen while I prep dinner and talk about our day as if life was normal and we weren’t all confined in the same house. We also encourage some time alone to recharge for everyone so one kid might play video games in the basement, one might read in their room while dad is in the living room on his phone and I enjoy a bath. This has proved to be very healthy for all of us. We take a family walk everyday (unless the weather sucks) and honestly, we’re doing really good. I’m grateful my kids are a little older and don’t need constant supervising so we can afford to work during the day while they do their school stuff. Wouldn’t be the same with a wiggly toddler ;p
Hannah Gokie says
I definitely feel you on the staying-up-too-late-for-personal-time. My husband and I have been staying up much too late just to decompress and it’s probably not helping but it’s hard to avoid! Otherwise we’ve been doing okay. Working from home for both of us means more and more house projects are tempting us to start but we’re trying to complete a few we’ve started in our free time.
Maggie Eickhoff says
We are building a new home and trying to get our current home ready to put on the market in lockdown. I am so thankful for all of this free time because I think I would have a breakdown if I was juggling a full work schedule at the same time!!!
Rebekah says
What a nice refresh. That quilt looks so luxurious and comfortable – no wonder Milly wanted to snuggle up with it!
I have been blessed to still be working full time. Working from home has been a bit of an adjustment. I didn’t have a workspace before and had to buy an inexpensive desk to hold the monitors and laptop I had to take home from work. I live alone and even though I am definitely an introvert, I find that I have come to miss the interactions with my coworkers.
Working from home has been nice though in that I can work with the lights off or dimmed and don’t have to worry about smells and sounds in the office affecting my chronic migraine-y head. I also have the option of taking a short rest if I am having a higher pain day and then getting back to work without using an entire sick day, so that has been convenient.
Hope you and your family have a great week!
Dana says
The quilt is stunning! I’m eyeing some of the shams, they would add some much needed texture to our bedding.
We’re doing well, all things considered. Prioritizing hasn’t always been a strength of mine because I tend to think every single thing is important and urgent. My husband is an LEO and I’m working full time from home with my two toddlers, and it’s literally impossible to get everything done and still manage to sleep. Once I realized that I couldn’t do it all, so much pressure and stress was lifted. I’m learning how to let things fall by the wayside and be ok with it.
Maura Shaughnessy says
Overall feeling so fortunate during this time (secure job, a chef husband feeding me, family safe). Our big home plans have been on hold with the lockdown. We had listed our place about 8 days before all this happened. We had lots of interest and showings before and now have only had 1 in the last five weeks. We’ll just have to be patient. Sadly the house we had our eyes (and hearts) on has now sold. So now it’s just a waiting game for us. Question for you: why did you decide to buy versus build as you originally planned to (at least my memory is you once had plans to build). I ask because while the home inventory seems to have shriveled up around me, lots of land has gone up for sale. Has us thinking we should think outside the (pre-built) box, but have no idea how to even start evaluating that.

Oh man, struggling as well! I find myself to be very fortunate living with someone I love, a new puppy, in school and still with a job. And yet, that sense of dread! Even more so for me, the urge to beautify and change my surroundings but lack of motivation. This too shall pass! <3

I love your bedroom! The color of the quilt is just beautiful. I’m a teacher, but we didn’t start remote teaching until the third week of lock down so I painted bedrooms and cleaned out closets while I had the time. Now I am teaching first graders to read all day via zoom. I love what I do and I love still being connected to my students.

Your bedroom looks beautiful! The quilt is a gorgeous color-and new sheets are always refreshing.
Our family has been.getting used to spending even more time with one another during this stay-at-home time. We’ve been doing things we wouldn’t usually – like starting seeds, painting woodwork, (a truck, and a chair) and taking care of chicks 🐥 .

Although we have our hard days, quarantine has given me time to slow down the schedule and enjoy my kids, and gain new insights into their personalities. Being home all the time definitely makes me want to improve my surroundings, and your style is an inspiration!
