The one thing I think all playrooms should feel is happy. The red couch was bringing that, but it needed a partner in crime. Many of you on Instagram thought I had painted a door a cheery yellow (Behr’s Lemon Zest) but I actually decided to go bold elsewhere.
The before and after are up on Domino now. Have a happy weekend!

Bravo Lady!! I love your color choice and also the red sofa. I have not yet tried Craigs List, but I feel like the now is the time to give it a try. I also love the white couch you found (on a previous post.) I think it would look great as is, but looking forward to see how you change it.

Gwen, I love the color you chose to balance out the room, and how you went all the way to the ceiling to give the illusion of a grand fireplace. Such a happy room! What color did you use on the walls? Everything looks so crisp! Congrats on your Domino article, it was fantastic!

Beautiful colors and the looks lovely! Thanks for sharing. Possibly the pouf next to the fireplace stands out, and one of these handmade fabric poufs would go very well.

so, so fabulous!! I love it. Cheery it is! In my old house we had the foyer painted in a similar hue. Yellow is such a good color and I just love that you just did the fireplace. So creative!

Oh No! Why why why would you paint such a gorgeous fireplace and mantel? Absolutely hideous, and you ruined what looks to be a vintage piece. So sad.
